Suzuki Intruder with Fuel Injection launched at INR 1.06 lakhs

Suzuki’s ugly duckling, the Intruder, has been launched in a new Avatar, with Fuel Injection.

The Suzuki Intruder 150 FI sits above the Intruder 150 Carb. It is about Rs 7,000 more expensive.

1.06L for a 150cc bike which is not so pleasant to the eyes while there are other bikes more powerful, better looking and better equipped at the same price range. Nice one Suzuki

At 1.06L (on-road), I will buy the RTR 180 ABS than this.

I think it is a refreshing design with good character. Unless there are any quality or service issues, this bike would sell well.

I have seen some on the road and were bit ugly. The styling may work on a bigger motorcycle, say, 600cc or above but for a 150cc this is a weird stuff. If you buy this motorcycle, people would think you are weirdo too. To my surprise, the cost of the motorcycle is way too high.

Suzuki India motorcycle division is bit clueless about our two wheeler market unlike the car division.

I have till now spotted only one Intruder and it seems really weird in person than in images. The guy who was riding it seems to be uncomfortable while changing gears and I could see him lifting his leg on/off the gear lever while trying to find the right gear. May be the owners can comment on the comfort and ride quality of the bike in real.

Monthly sales of Intruder has been on a roll since introduction and now has almost touched 5K units - Intruder has sold 4,895 units in Feb 2018 which is highest since launch. However, the worrying sign for Suzuki is that the sales of Gixxer has almost crashed at the same rate as how sales of Intruder has increased.

As you can see that, the combined volume Intruder and Gixxer almost same as that of the volume of Gixxer alone before Intruder launch, suggesting that most of the potential Gixxer customers are being attracted to Intruder and ended up buying that.

The "INITIAL" Sales numbers do not mean anything. Since they are just WHOLESALE/DISPATCH to dealerships.

The real picture becomes clear only after a few months.
