Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018

Big shoutout to Eddy for shooting these pictures & his coverage of the Auto Expo. Thanks for sharing, man!

Cleveland CycleWerks (CCW) is motorcycle manufacturer that designs and assembles small displacement retro style café racers and bobbers in Cleveland. They would be entering the Indian market this year with CKD imports from China. They have set up their assembly unit in Pune and are based out of Mumbai for corporate operations:

Auto expo was the first platform where the company put their bikes on public display in India. CCW being a manufacturer and not a custom bike builder caught quite a bit of attention, although their stall was a little cramped with 6 bikes on display:

Cleveland CycleWerks Heist 250

Let's start with the Heist bobber styled motorcycle. The bike is built on a tubular backbone, double cradle chassis:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6411.jpg

The overall styling is retro and has the simplistic feel to it:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6415.jpg

The rear wheel has a 2 piston slide caliper brake. The wire spokes add to the retro look of the bike:

CCW Heist is powered by a simple 229 cc engine. Simple meaning no OHC, no 4 valve heads, it's an OHV engine with 1 intake and 1 exhaust port:

The rear suspension setting can be changed by adjusting the seat springs:

No loud stickers. Just a simple sticker on the tank:

The chain tensioner and wheel adjuster is exposed:

Cleveland CycleWerks Ace Scrambler

The bike is a part of the Ace family which also includes the Ace Standard, Deluxe and the Cafe:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6428.jpg

The bike carries the textbook scrambler look and is built around a square backbone, stressed engine, high carbon steel frame:

17" wheels with a 110/70 tyre up front and a single piston caliper disc brake:

The Cleveland CycleWerks plate on the side looks nice:

Traditional dials:

Simple American type switchgear:

Round tail light and round indicators look slightly small, but not out of place:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6442.jpg

The bike is powered by the same engine as the Heist. It's a 229 cc, OHV, single cylinder, four stroke, push rod, air cooled engine making 15 BHP and 16 Nm of torque:

Cleveland CycleWerks Misfit

The Misfit is in its 2nd generation internationally. The bike is built on a perimeter frame:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6455.jpg

The bike looks great in the green paint scheme and has some added chiselled lines unlike other bikes in the line-up:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-1.jpg

The cafe-racer type single seat can be converted into double by removing the rear cover:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6459.jpg

The tank is long, but sleek. The knee indents on the tank are quite prominent:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6461.jpg

The seat height is set at 30". The rear suspension has twin coil over oil damped shocks:

18" front wheel with single 315 mm full floating wave rotor, 4 piston radial mount caliper:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6453.jpg

Traditional dials look classy:

Cleveland CycleWerks Ace Cafe'

This is the Cafe' racer cousin of the scrambler seen earlier:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6463.jpg

Traditional round headlight with USD forks:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6487.jpg

The same 229 cc engine does the duty here as well. The white and blue paint scheme looks refreshing:

Cleveland CycleWerks Ace Deluxe

The third sibling - Ace Deluxe:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6492.jpg

38 mm inverted forks here with the round headlamp:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6496.jpg

A flat seat unlike the single cafe' racer cousin:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6480.jpg

The rear wheel has a travel of 90 mm:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6482.jpg

I like how the looks are simplistic throughout. Across the range, you can see the traditional design elements being used everywhere:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6479.jpg

Cleveland CycleWerks FXR

The only bike in CCW stall with a different engine. This is the motocross styled bike which is road legal in most countries. CCW is currently in the process of getting approvals from ARAI for an Indian launch as well:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6509.jpg

With these inverted forks, the front wheel has a travel range of 195 mm:
Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018-dsc_6499.jpg

The rear has a single shock adjustable suspension which gives the wheel a travel of 150 mm:

Single piston slide caliper rear disc brake:

Simple yet gorgeous looking motorcycles although I am skeptical about the quality. I wish major manufacturers would take some inspiration from them in terms of styling.

Re: Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018

Nice! I'd watched some videos on YouTube a few years ago when they were just getting set up.

Hadn't heard much since, so thought they had folded. Good to know that they're still in business, and coming to India!

The smaller displacement engines should keep the price down.

Cleveland Cycle works bikes in India

Starting this new thread as I couldn't find any other proper place to put it down. Moderators, request you to place it correctly if required.

Few days back, while riding on my two wheeler, I happened to see an interesting looking bike on display outside a small showroom near my place. On fleeting glance, it looked somewhat like a mix of RD350 or RX100, but since I was in a hurry, did not stop to investigate at that time. Later I tried to search on the net for the launch of any such new bike in India, but couldn't find any information.
Out of curiosity, I specifically visited the showroom last week. Came to know that it was the "Cleveland Cycle works" bikes showroom and they have recently launched their bikes in India. It is an American company and currently have two models, one of which is on sale and was on display.
The model itself looked pretty good and on asking, I also could get a small test ride. It is a 250cc bike. Although I was not quite impressed with the ride quality, the salesman assured that the suspension would improve on more running.
What surprised me that there is no mention of the launch anywhere in the news or in any forums. No adverts either. It seems that their media drive has just been done and the adverts may come out soon.
Although I don't have much knowledge of today's bikes, I once was the owner of the RX100, and the somewhat similar looks of this new bike is what attracted me to check it out. I am sure fellow BHPians must be having more knowledge of it.

Interesting place, though not a bike fan, I happen to pass that place frequently as I stay nearby as well. I think they need to offer a bit more models. They have only 2 models with the same underpinnings.

Re: Cleveland CycleWerks @ Auto Expo 2018

This is a Chinese brand with just headquarter in America. Just like UM Motorcycles. No offence meant but I won't touch these Chinese products with a 6 feet long pole.
