The H2 SX SE

Kawasaki has launched the H2 SX and H2 SX SE (special edition) bikes at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018. They will be priced at Rs. 21,80,000 and 26,80,000 (ex-showroom) respectively. The bike showcased here is the H2 SX SE with a green and black combo paintjob:


The display bike got side panniers:


The main headlight sits in between to air scoops. The indicators are housed on the ORVMs, while the bike also gets cornering LEDs that are mounted vertically on the fairing. These 3-LED units turn on only when the bike takes a corner and the lean angle in 10,20 and 30 degrees:


The rear gets multi-LED brake lights and clear lens indicators:

It gets a high strength steel Trellis frame with a swing arm mounting plate:


I bet you didn't expect his on a bike! No, its not just a sticker - the H2 SX gets a 998 cc, inline 4, supercharged petrol engine that develops 197 BHP @ 11,000 rpm and 137.3 Nm of torque @ 9,500 rpm:


The bike gets an analogue tachometer with the redline marked at 12,000 rpm and a TFT display:

The bike gets a full adjustable suspension. The rotary knob for pre-load can be adjusted on the go without any tools:


Single exhaust is located on the right side:


Handlebars get loads of buttons. The right gets a kill switch...


...while the left gets the controls for the lights, cruise control, power modes, indicators, hazard lights and more:

The Vulcan S

Also showcased was the Vulcan S. The cruiser-style bike gets a liquid cooled parallel twin engine that puts out 60 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 63 Nm @ 6,600 rpm:


It can also be fitted with an optional windscreen as well as side storage:


It gets 41mm front forks and 120/70 R18 wheels. The exterior of the bike is finished in a matte black texture throughout:

The ZX-10R

The Kawasaki ZX-10R is known to take inputs from the bikes of the World Super Bike (WSB) series. It gets a 998 cc 4-cylinder engine that makes 197 BHP @ 13,000 rpm and 113.5 Nm torque @ 11,500 rpm.

The bike gets a green and black livery:


It gets a upward facing stubby exhaust on the right:


Rear gets a 190/55 section 17-inch tyre:


The rear gets an adjustable monoshock suspension with compression and rebound damping:




Front end gets dual 330mm Brembo disk brakes and a 43mm adjustable upside-down Showa balance free fork:


The Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) allows seamless upshifts. Combine it with the optional race ECU and get clutch-less downshifts as well:


The bike also gets a steering damper that reduces unwanted wobbles. 'Kawasaki Racing Team' sticker on the tank:


It also gets two green stickers with 'Ninja' inscription:


The rear too gets adjustable suspension with a gas charged shock:


Single 220mm disk handles the braking duties at the rear:


The Showa shocks are not only adjustable, but also have separate compression and rebound circuits:


The Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System (KIBS) uses additional data from the 5-axis Bosch EMU (which calculates lean angle etc) and the ECU (throttle position, engine speed, clutch and gear position) to allow optimal braking control in all conditions, including mid-corner:

The Z900

The Kawasaki Z900 was also displayed. It gets a 948cc, inline 4 engine that makes 124 BHP @ 9,500 BHP and 98.6 Nm @ 7,700 rpm.

The bike features a sharp design and gets adjustable 41mm inverted shocks at the front, dual 300mm front disk brakes and a high tensile trellis frame:


It also gets a stubby exhaust, a single 250mm rear disk and an adjustable horizontally back linked rear suspension:

The Versys X-300

The baby Versys is aimed at entry-level adventure tourer segment. The 296cc parallel twin is good for 39 BHP @ 11,500 rpm and 25.7 Nm @ 10,000 rpm.

The bike showcased gets a windshield, Kawasaki branded auxiliary lights and palm protectors:


It gets long travel suspension, wire-spoke wheels, single 290mm disk brake, saddle storage boxes and gets a grey / silver / green livery:


The rear too gets a long travel suspension, upswept exhaust and single 220mm disk brake:


Console is dominated by an analogue tachometer - redline is marked at 12,000 rpm all way till 15,000 rpm. It also gets a 12V power socket:

Odd that Kawa did not bring the N400, does that mean the launch might not be happening this Year. That will be very sad.

What! No Z900RS! I was expecting Kawasaki to launch some new bikes - Z900RS, Ninja 400 etc - bit no signs of them yet.

Biggest disappointment for me personally from this year's expo.

I can understand them not launching it yet, because the company might only have the bandwidth to take it one product at a time, and they've been consistently launching products once every two months or so. With the Vulcan and the Ninja H2SX both new in the market, they might not have the bandwidth to launch the 900RS.

But - whatever said and done, it should have been displayed at the expo. This bike has created a lot of enthusiasm worldwide and certainly would have done the same for Kawasaki in India as well.

Excellent pricing on the H2SX though. 210ps and 21.8L.

Suddenly makes the ZX14 look like a sitting duck at 19.7L even though it makes 200ps as well. But anyways it was never really relevant thanks to the CKD pricing on the Busa.

On another note, a kerb mass of 235kg may be a deal breaker for those who would want to use the bike for city rides as well.

Not really. The ride height is so low that the machine feels hardly much different from an Avenger. Plus the Kawasaki 650 engines are rather efficient at heat management.

This video should give a perspective as to how easy it is to navigate for shorter people as well.
