All,

I just wanted to ask if it is fair to do a comparison of W800 and SM650 because one stands at 4 Lakhs and the other is at almost 7 Lakhs after the discount. Would it be reasonable to stretch ourselves that extra 3 Lakhs for the W800?

insecurities/fears:
1. Parts availability. This 2019 stock and maybe they are offloading it. How will they support future needs of existing owners?
2. Service Costs: I hear 7-8K per service and this will be 2 times a year (14K?). Isn't that expensive compared to an RE?
3. Coming back to parts, the assembly will happen with parts from three years ago? Is this going to be reliable?
4. Their warranty is something like 2 years/20K kms? What kind of confidence does this reflect?
5. Is it fair to ignore Super Meteor 650 for a W800?

Can someone help understand this better?

Kawasaki is also offering a discount of Rs 50,000 on the Z650 and Z650RS. The effective price of both models has come down to Rs 5.93 lakh and Rs 6.42 lakh, respectively.

Royal Enfield hikes prices of the Hunter, Himalayan & Classic

Royal Enfield has increased the prices of the Hunter 350, Classic 350, Himalayan 411 and Scram 411 models.



The prices of the Hunter 350 have been hiked by Rs 2,755. The bike now costs Rs 1,69,656 (ex-showroom).

Depending on the colour scheme, the prices for the Classic 350 have gone up by Rs 2,988-Rs 3,933. The bike is priced between Rs 1,98,080 and Rs 2,24,755 (ex-showroom).

Prices of the Scram 411 have been hiked by up to Rs 3,849. As a result, the ex-showroom price has gone up from Rs 2,03,085 to Rs 2,06,934. On the other hand, the Himalayan 411 is now Rs 5,000 more expensive than before. The touring bike is now priced at Rs 2.28 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hero Karizma XMR to get more expensive from October 1

Hero MotoCorp is all set to increase the prices of the Karizma XMR from October 1, 2023. Prices will be hiked by Rs 7,000, which means the XMR will cost Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom) from next month.



The Karizma XMR was launched earlier this month at an introductory price of Rs 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom). The current pricing will be valid till midnight of September 30 and the booking window will be temporarily closed on the same day.

The Karizma XMR is powered by a 210cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine that makes 25.15 BHP @ 9,250 rpm and 20.4 Nm @ 7,250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slip-and-assist clutch.

The bike is based on a new chassis suspended by a conventional telescopic fork at the front and a 6-step adjustable mono-shock at the rear. Braking is handled by a single petal-type disc at the front and a disc brake at the rear, supported by dual-channel ABS. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

Yes, this seems to be correct news as I got the same confirmation from the guys from the Hyderabad showroom.

Hero MotoCorp has announced that it plans to increase the prices of its scooters and motorcycles from July 1, 2024.



According to the company, prices will be revised by up to Rs 1,500, however, the exact quantum of the hike will vary from model to model. The bike maker also said that the price hike was necessary to offset the impact of higher input costs.

Recently, Hero MotoCorp increased its stake in Bangalore-based electric 2-wheeler brand, Ather Energy. It also is the largest shareholder in the company.

The company is gearing up to launch the all-new Destini 125. The scooter will feature several cosmetic updates but is expected to carry forward the same 124.6cc single-cylinder engine.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 & Vulcan S get discounts of up to Rs 60,000

Kawasaki has announced a discount of up to Rs 60,000 on the Ninja 650 and Vulcan S.



The Vulcan S is available with a maximum benefit of Rs 60,000, while the Ninja 650 gets benefits worth Rs 30,000. The benefits can be availed via the 'Good Times Voucher' against the ex-showroom prices of the bikes, which are Rs 7.10 lakh and Rs 7.16 lakh, respectively.



Both the Vulcan S and Ninja 650 use the same 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. While the cruiser packs 60 BHP and 62.4 Nm, the engine is tuned to 67 BHP and 64 Nm in the Ninja 650.

The discounts are valid till the end of this month or until stocks last.

Triumph extends anniversary offer of Rs 10,000 off till August 31

Triumph has extended its 1st-anniversary offer on the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X till August 31, 2024.



The anniversary offer was announced on July 1 to mark the milestone of selling more than 50,000 made-in-India Triumph 400cc bikes in over 50 countries.

As part of this offer, the company is offering a discount of Rs 10,000 on the ex-showroom prices of the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. The bikes are now available at Rs 2.24 lakh and Rs 2.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively.

The Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X share the same platform. While Speed 400 is a roadster, while the latter is a more rugged version of the same.

Both bikes are powered by a 398cc liquid-cooled engine that makes 39.5 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a torque-assist clutch.
