2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 & RS200 launched with BSIV engines

Mod Note: BHPian _nilaygandhi's Bajaj Pulsar NS200 Ownership Review has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!

Bajaj Auto has officially re-launched the Pulsar NS200 with BSIV engine in India at a price of Rs. 96,453. Additionally, the Indian bike maker has also updated the RS200 with a BSIV engine and new dual-tone colours. The RS200 is priced from Rs. 1,21,881 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Pulsar NS200 continues to be powered by a 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 23 BHP and 18.3 Nm of torque, though it is BSIV compliant. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It also gets a body coloured underbelly protection which was missing on the previous model. The 2017 NS200 comes with three new colour schemes: Graphite Black, Mirage White & Wild Red.

Meanwhile, the 2017 RS200 too gets a BSIV compliant 199.5 cc, triple spark DTS-i engine, which produces 24.2 BHP and 18.6 Nm of torque. It is available with ABS as an option. The only cosmetic change made to the 2017 model is the addition of two new colours: Racing Blue and Graphite Black.

Price (ex-showroom, Delhi)
• Pulsar NS200 - Rs. 96,453
• Pulsar RS200 (non-ABS) - Rs. 1,21,881
• Pulsar RS200 (ABS) - Rs. 1,33,883

Re: 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 & RS200 launched with BSIV engines

Bajaj missed a trick with the NS200 re-launch. They should have provided the NS200 with ABS (at-least as an option) thereby ensuring that the threat from the TVS Apache 200 was well covered and taken care of.

TVS has that covered! RTR 200 ABS was launched only on paper, and the same is not available on the roads even almost a year after launch.

That said, agree that ABS would have made the NS200 a good package. Probably they didn't want the prices to overlap with the recently launched Dominar 400.

Re: 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 & RS200 launched with BSIV engines

Will the relaunched NS replace the AS or the so called adventure tourer version which is nothing but some plastic slapped onto an otherwise ripped looking NS? All it did was spoil the look by adding bulk and inflate the price tag.

No ABS again?
I was waiting for the 200 NS re-launch for a long time and the speculations earlier were it will be getting the FI and ABS (at least as option) The wait is over and I must rethink either to go for it or look for an alternate.

We hope Bajaj should have addressed the (in)famous hard seating issue as well (along with the other issues related to the engine)

PS: Are we getting an official T-BHP review (similar to Dominar)?
