Straight? Like the Pulsar 150 & likes? No, it is just like the FZ [the way you want to have fun in corners]

Sheel Bhai,

How many kilometres did you ride the bike and would you recommend this bike for a daily grind of 100 KMS. Did you book the bike? If yes, then what is the delivery timeline we are looking at.

Very difficult to comment on this aspect. As it varies from person to person, but this being a street oriented bike, will be comfortable. please do a test ride.

I frankly don't find Achiever/P-150 riding position to be comfortable. For long rides, the CBR 250R, Karizma, FZ have good ergos and suit my kind of riding.

I should be getting it in next 2/3 days. Will update henceforth on this aspect and others.

When did you book the bike? On inquiring with the dealers here, they are telling deliveries make take a month's time as State Transport Department has to approve this new model before the RTOs start accepting it for registration.

I shall be cancelling the booking of classic 350 and will be booking FZ25 today.

Woah Sheel, that is really quick dude.
Just like MDED has posted, I was informed that I can only get the bike by 3rd week of March.

OT:

The bike was launched on Jan 24 and Yamaha only had brochures to show the customers until Feb 24...at least in Bangalore !!
On the flip side, KTM surprised everybody by launching the D250 and within few days of the launch, it was at the dealerships for display.

I think this competitive attitude was enough to convince me and I booked my D250 on Saturday.

If the wait is the same, I rather buy something that is technologically and evolutionarily superior.

Hey Vik, congrats!

But did you ponder over the fact that fz25 & KTM Duke 250 are two VERY different motorcycles with very different personalities, despite being same displacement?

I am a duke 250 kinda guy, one who loves revving it to the limiter every gear, and one who loves fast highway cruising. If i were given a fz25, i would get bored within first ten minutes of highway riding. But if it was a ktm duke 250, i would find it a lot more exciting, more so than my slow cbr 250r.

So i believe our riding styles should match the motorcycle. If you are by any chance a sedate rider, i guess FZ25 makes a better choice. But if you are someone like me, you will be happy that ktm launched d250 sooner.

Have fun! Ride safe!

Thank you Prasanna

I did oscillate between D400, FZ25, CBR250R and even Mojo for a very long time buddy. I personally felt that the Yamaha after sales Parts & Service was a little expensive, considering that I had a FZ16. Having owned 3 150cc bikes previously in my life, I wanted to move a bit higher, coz I know these are probably some of the last 'Biking Years' of my life...I have started enjoying the Comfort of a Car over the Liveliness of a Bike.

Of the 4 bikes I have mentioned above, FZ25 made most sense, only until I saw the D250 last weekend at the KTM showroom.

I am not the "Rev that Limiter into Oblivion" kinda guy for sure, but I do enjoy some spirited rides at times. Considering the fact that my better half also prefers bikes to scooterettes, D250 was simply THE BEST BANG FOR BUCK

Couldn't agree more with you KK

In fact, I think KTM have hit a Home Run with the launch of D250.

FZ25 was my logical upgrade and would have surely booked one if only Yamaha had more marketing sense. Personally, CBR 250R is a better package at ~50k premium (non-ABS) in Bangalore.

But D250 is an "ALMOST" complete package with 13.5l Fuel tank, Biggest Discs of the segment, Slipper Clutch, widest Seats, widest tires, most powerful (currently) at 31PS with 24NM torque and arguably the most aggressive design.

Most amazing thing is the Power to Weight Ratio of the D250...at 201 BHP/tonne, it is better than the bigger D400 which is 193 BHP/tonne.

Though an optional ABS would have just sealed the deal as the most VFM quarter litre bike in the country.

I am just hoping that the maintenance of this Austrian is not gonna be as expensive or unpredictable like my other stead, 1.6 GT TDI!!!

Did you TR the D250. If yes, then please share your first impressions. Whats the FE promised on this bike and whether these bikes are BSIV compliant.

Is this from Raj Yamaha@Adyar ? Any info on when TR will be available? I checked last weekend, but the SA was shying away from committing any dates.

Yes, the black bike picture is taken at Raj Yamaha yesterday night. I found this particular showroom the least courteous and highly unprofessional. One shouldn't book any vehicle from them. Samyuktha Autos at Mandaiveli, Near Luz signal is way better and professional in their approach.
