This thread talks about such a rule in Maharashtra at least. I thought down south it must have been already implemented.

The transport department has also made it mandatory for two-wheeler dealers to provide at least two helmets with the vehicle. RTOs have been told to ask for evidence of dealers providing their customers with two helmets. It was recently made mandatory for two-wheeler licence applicants to sign an indemnity bond stating that they will wear a helmet while using their vehicle.

Just a recommendation:

There is no reason for you to buy RE helmets when the same product is readily available for cheap elsewhere

Their helmets that are in the 3k range are the Vega Axor helmets with an RE logo. IIRC, you can get these for around 2 - 2.5k online or at your local helmet dealer

Their more expensive 7k odd ones are "Shiro helmets". These are available for around 4k here - http://www.stepinadventure.com/produ...-10631926.aspx

PS - I am assuming you will be buying a full face helmet and hence have suggested accordingly

From my experience of buying Suzuki Access from Advaith Suzuki less than a month back, they did not offer me any discounts.

Instead, they suggested me to book scooter through Paytm and Paytm will give me Rs 3000 cashback.
