This looks like an excellent scoot from Aprilia! :thumbs up
It's stylish, sporty, features large 14" wheels & wider tyres, telescopic front forks, dual-barrel headlamps, disc brake etc. and is amazing value-for-money as well!
If I were in the market for a scooter, I'd happily go for this one after test riding it. I hope Aprilia are able to market it & support it adequately.
They may not be able to challenge the undisputed leader Honda in terms of numbers, but the Italians should prove to be a worry for other brands like TVS, Suzuki, Yamaha & Hero.

I doubt it, while it will be a hit among the enthusiast, the pricing and more importantly, the mileage will never make it a mainstream hit.
But it will definitely make Piaggio's business viable, which is important for the overall diversity of the market. Otherwise, we will still have Activa dominating in 2025
So the bookings are open in Mumbai with a goregaon dealer and a Bandra dealer.
I have just booked mine with a booking amount of 2000/-
The first bikes are going to be available on the 15th of august in the showroom.
So far it seems Mumbai have about 50 bookings.
Seems on-road price will be about 80k on road mumbai.
Deliveries will start first week September.
I have already planned a couple of mods for this.
1) Increasing seat height. ( Cutting the seat and adding a layer of foam)
2) Waterproof Speakers with a usb console to play music.
3) Wheel repaint.
4) Exhaust but a good looking silent one.
5) Strobe lights that you get on the ktm.
6) A nice loud skoda type horn.
7) HID Lights.
8) RSV4 stickering.

Above the starter button, I see place for a switch which is blank and covered by a plastic piece.
Generally it houses the headlamp on-off switch. if it is not there, how are the headlamps switched on and off? |

They must have removed the switch to prepare the bike for the headlamps always on legislation that is expected to come into force soon (April 2017 i think). |

The headlamp on/off switch is present in the vehicle shown in the CarDekho video review. Below is a screenshot from the video.
Will be interesting to see what Aprilia does with the final production version.
Seems like the first consumer version of the SR 150 is out of the oven waiting to be shipped to Piaggio (Vespa) and Motoplex dealerships across the country. You can also book the scooter from
Paytm for ₹. 2000. Source - Motoroids

As usual some wrong data on online retailers - like Paytm in this case:
They have mentioned that the scooter has a
Provision Of USB Connector For Phone Charging and
Maximum power of 10BHP
Both of these are incorrect for this scooter. Is it always the case of errors from the website or Piaggio iself would've given incorrect data?
Which Vespa dealer in Bangalore has a demo/test drive vehicle? I would like to see it first before making the booking. Need a replacement for my 11 year old activa. As it looks now, It would be SR 150 or the Yamaha Ray Z for now.
Aprilia SR150 can be booked online via PayTM with Rs. 2000 & also get Rs. 2000 cashback.

Was looking for a mid size Scooter for the daily odd grocery runs. Stumbled upon the booking availability via PayTM so booked one right away.:Cheering:
Nothing to lose in the booking amount (2k cashback) coupled with too good to be true 65k ex showroom for an aprilia sealed the deal for me.
A negative test ride report by the better half is the only possible spoiler which I am sure it should pass with flying colors.
Cant wait to get my hands on one.
Vespa seems to have finally learnt from its earlier launch fiascoes in India! I paid 85K OTR in Mumbai for my 125 cc Vespa VX a couple of years ago, this is great pricing for the Aprilia SR 150.
Went ahead and booked it through PAYTM. Delivery date shown is Sept 16-19. Rs. 2000+100 (convenience fee)
So the scooters have hit showrooms atleast in pune. On-road at 75k isnt bad at all.
These are some of the pictures ive clicked from the Motoplex showroom in pune.
For a 5'-10" guy like me, Yes it is small.
