Re: Aprilia SR 150 - spotted undisguised

Absolutely gorgeous, no doubt

But - Rumor has it that it will employ the same engine as that of the Vespa 150. I haven't ridden one but almost every single review I have read says that the motor is nothing special and that the Activa 125 is just as peppy, if not slightly better

Not discounting the additional equipment like the disc brake, bigger wheels and probably stickier rubber (Its probably IRC, maybe Vee Rubber), but at a rumored price of around 1 lakh, its another pricey toy like the Vespa

Hope it is better tuned for more power and leans a bit towards the "power scooters" side of things. Eager to see how this story unfolds

Same here. If it is a good alternative to bike, I am for it.

SR 150 should be more joyful to drive because...
1. 150 cc 3 valve engine breaths better
2. As per Aprilia it is tuned to be a city power scooter, ~12 BHP, 11.5 NM
3. 120 section 14 inch wheels
4. Quality from this manufacturer is way better than Honda

I have a Honda CBR 150R & not happy with the overall quality. Its OK.

Re: Aprilia SR 150 - spotted undisguised

Doesn't look radically different from a Dio or a Wego. I wonder why these companies can't bring some really good-looking (and powerful) scoots to India (e.g. Yamaha Aeolus, Suzuki Burgman, Yamaha Zuma, Sym CityCom 300, Sym RV 250, Sym Crox, etc.)

I think the key differentiation they are bringing is about bigger wheel, 150 cc engine....but something with 250, 300 cc would have been great.

Honestly, except for the brand Aprilia, I don't see anything exciting in this product. The instrument cluster itself is a downer to me, it looks too plain. For a product expected to be in the range of 1lakh, people would expect to see a digital cluster. However, the colour on the scooter looks interesting. Waiting for more detailed info on the product.

Instrument cluster is a big let down I agree. They could have at least added what's in Vespa. At Rs.1L, basic cluster looks odd.

re: Aprilia SR 150 unveiled at the Auto Expo. EDIT: Priced at Rs. 65,000

Will it die like all other 150cc scooters or will it be a hit.
The kinetic blaze didnt really do well in this market. Nor did the 150cc Vespa.

Why would someone want to buy a 150cc scooter?
After their not so great success of the vespa 150, Why this?
Why the same price tag.

Will have to wait and see how this does.

Ive heard that they will be selling this scooter from exisiting Vespa/piaggio showrooms.

Vespa being premium product, they are selling around 1500 units per month. Not bad. Pricing around 80,000 mark should be good.

If you look at Activa 125 at 61,000 & Activa 3G at 55,000 now add these missing features from Vespa, broader wheel + DC light + 150 CC + 3 Valve engine + fit & finish

SR 150 spotted in Vespa Bangalore dealership. There's lot of difference between the one here vs. the orange one spotted in Pune. For example Front fork, gold colored disk brake unit. Which one will be the final?

This is great news. How they have managed this i do not know. But be sure to see this fly off the shelves.

I believe it's because of the plastic body it uses, unlike the Vespa's metal monocoque structure. Wonder it makes me think "What's so Aprilia about it?" Hope the answer lies in the performance.

Thanks for sharing bud! Indeed good news

I hope that this pricing is not for a "watered down" version - meaning no disc brakes, maybe smaller wheels or a lower tune of engine etc.

Would love to see this in my garage

This bike in my opinion is well priced, I was expecting it to be in the range of ₹.80,000 - ₹.1,00,000 but design of this bike so unimpressive and boring, looks like the previous gen. Honda Dio. If it can impress with it's performance and ride quality then the god-awful design can be overlooked I guess.
