Honda Navi: A scooter disguised as a bike

Wow, this is new, Honda has surprised us.

They have released it in the market with an ex-showroom price of Rs. 39,500

As an owner of a Vespa VX125, can someone please explain what a 'scooter disguised as a bike' means?

The first thing that popped into my head when I saw this was Grom's smaller sibling! I like the looks, but the fuel tank is tiny. 3.5L is too less. Also, what is that removable box below the tank?

If you look at the pictures carefully, and erase the traditional motorcycle fuel tank in the pictures, you can very well see that this is based on a scooter - probably the Dio chassis, engine, rear suspension, wheels - everything. Just that it is a scooter which has been modified to look and feel like a motorcycle. It is meant to be a fun city ride, nothing else.

I love it!

I just made that one, mate . Since the stance is like a bike and tyres and engine position is like that of a scooter.

I think mods will change the title if its confusing. Is this called a moto-scooter?
Does any one know the exact name? if yes, we can change the title.

Honda Navi ; A scooter disguised as a bike

Looks like now they can consider the remake of classic bollywood movie 'Bobby' with this one. But it does look cute. Many years ago, it was a craze in Bhopal to convert Kinetic Honda like a moto-scooter. Like how Honda has started off late with this and Hornet to develop unconventional looking bikes for Indian market. Hope this continues in 2016.

re: Honda Navi: A scooter disguised as a bike

It was showcased in 3 variants called Street, Adventure & Off-road, so Honda is going to launch them all? Rear portion looks like is taken from CBF Stunner. Dio is around 48000 ex Delhi so how can this be based on Dio yet cheaper? These are the other 2 variants.

re: Honda Navi: A scooter disguised as a bike

Why would someone who wants a scooter, compromise on the practicality (underseat storage and storage on the footboard) to buy this "thing" which is netiher scooter nor bike, nor does it have impressive stats? If they are only targeting the college-going crowd, then yes, it's an eye-pleaser (probably because it looks different than what we are used to seeing), but I don't understand the product positioning.

For some reason I am reminded of the Rajdoot "Bobby" - a bike with scooter wheels and a Stepney as well!

Precisely the thought I had as well when I saw the full page ad on TOI this morning. Has an uncanny resemblance to it.

Because it is neither a bike or scooter, it is a 2-WHEELER.

Wouldn't the appeal to a 16yr old? Instead of the old Activa, he/she can use this navi. And then upgrade he/she becomes 18. When I got my MCWOG license, I'd have loved to own this. Not to mention cheaper than Activa.

That looks like a weird Honda Grom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Grom. The actual one is quite cool.
Dunno what to make of this!

Re: Honda Navi: A scooter disguised as a bike

While we are witnessing so many 'Naked' Bikes being launched and as the Honda is the only strong player in the Scooter segment, it is launching the Naked Scooter.
