Does the Avenger's rear and front tyre come with tubeless or tube type tires?

Street doesn't come in tubeless tyres. It is tubed. The tyres are also solid in terms of thickness.

Did you make the decision?

Last week took a test ride of Street 220. My observations are almost similar to yours. The bike is very comfortable. Tried taking couple of short U-turn and it was acceptable as against mentioned in few reviews.
Overall fit and finish, color is top notch. It gives a premium feel and still cost less than 1L. The overall design is very close to HD Street 750.

My friend has purchased Cruise 220 in December and after using it for few months decided to sell it. Primary reason, Cruise is too cumbersome to use in city. The handle bars are not comfortable. Exactly opposite to Street 220. Handle bar design makes a lot of difference.

Why don't you ask your friend to change the handle bar to that of the Street?

If the bike is sold for such trivial reason then the buyer would be really lucky!

If handle-bar is the only difference between street & cruise variant, can handle-bar from street be fitted to older generation Avenger? This is just for easier U-turns.

Only handle bar is not the primary reason. He also found the bike very difficult to ride in city, parking is another problem.
I also checked his bike as it's fairly new. However the overdose of Chrome is a let down. I'm not a big fan of Chrome.
Street's riding posture is by-far better than Cruise

Street & Cruise are only different in handlebar and backrest as a functional unit. Rest all changes are purely cosmetic!

The foot pegs are identical in both bikes (position) so only riding stance changes (hand position)

Changing a handlebar is very common for a Royal Enfield user for various reasons and availability!

I think, you can put the Street handle bar on old avenger as well as Cruise.

Bajaj has launched new Golden and Brown color for Avenger Cruise. Saw this bike recently.

The seat and back rest are brown. There is slight use of brown on body panels. Overall the color combination looks good.

This colour shade reminds me of Yamaha Enticer. It was available in the same colour combination.

I am in the market for a "125Km-a-day" upgrade from the current puny 100cc commuter.

Skipped lunch and went to Bangalore's Dr.Rajkumar Road (Rajajinagar) VST Motors. Very courteous staff and after a brief talk they took to their TD-parking lot.

I first took the Cruise220 - absolutely NO! Horrendous after just 3-4 left and right turns into by lanes. It may be great for highway's "no-big-arm-movement" riding, but very difficult to ride in city.

Next was the Street-220, fell in love with it. Perfect ergonomics and just enough power. After a short TD and deciding to buy it, came back to plan finances. Now the wait begins.

Avengers launched with new paint schemes. The Street 150 gets a Cosmic Red shade, while the Avenger 220 Street is now available in Matte Wild Green.

Bajaj Auto revamped its Avenger range of motorcycles last year. It now consists of three models - the Cruise 220, the Street 220, and the Street 150. At the time of introduction, Bajaj had launched each Avenger bike with only one colour option. Now, the two-wheeler manufacturer has introduced more colours for the range.

The Street 150, which is the most affordable bike in the Avenger line-up, was till now available only in the Midnight Blue paint scheme. Bajaj has now given it a new Cosmic Red colour. The bike is priced at Rs. 75,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).


Meanwhile, the Avenger Street 220 gets a new Matte Wild Green colour, in addition to the existing Matte Black paint job. The Street 220 costs Rs. 85,497 (ex-showroom, Delhi).


Bajaj had added a new Desert Gold colour on the Avenger Cruise 220 a few months back. The Cruise 220 was originally launched only with the Divine Black colour. The price of the Cruise 220 is identical to that of the Street 220, i.e. Rs. 85,497 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

I had purchased the Bajaj Avenger 220 street version around 8 months back and had been using the bike only on weekends. But recently I have started using it extensively and daily so a couple of observations which i have seen additionally.

1. The side stand is a little weak and at times the bike tilts a little extra precariously. I agree the side stand in chrome is a sore job and a jet black stand to match the bike would have been great. The main stand though is sturdy bajaj could have done a better job of a stand which requires less strength.
2. At times when you ride for long the black silencer emits a weird kind of smell. I asked the SA of the bajaj service centre he said there is no problem and this is normal considering the black color of the silencer. I didnt agree but could not find any other reason
3. I did not use the bike in the interim for a month and then it had starting problems. I had to drag it to the service centre and the guys said that this is normal and that the carburetor had accumulated residual lead. The total servicing cost and oil change was 770 in total. This was a second servicing and
4. The headlamps although claimed by Bajaj that it has a whitish light I disagree and have seen it to be a normal light a little brighter. The other aspect is the high beam needs adjustment to focus on the road as it almost throws light into the void and not on the road.
5. The bike seating is the best part and is very comfortable compared to the earlier avenger. I drove for 60 km at a stretch in Mumbai and did not feel at all discomforted
6. The handles again on street version are nimble and responsive to the short turns and traffic situation in Mumbai
7. The black alloy wheels and the extra wide rear tyre has been great to drive around

Overall a good experience except for the lead accumulation part which I am still seeking expert advise. Any inputs would be welcome

I am contemplating to buy Avenger 220 Street. I just want some info from you.
1. What's the mileage you are getting? My daily run would be ~40 kmph, so I got to be wary about fuel cost
2. Other than lead accumulation, I hope there no major hiccups you have experienced till now.

Have a Street 220.

I'm 5'9 and the original seat height was painful in city traffic so have increased seat height by about 1-1/2 inch by adding foam layers on the original seat cushion. Recently, changed the handlebar to increase height as well as width by couple of inches. This was necessary since the seat height increase meant handlebar went too low for my liking and started causing back pain on long rides (with backpack on). Now the riding position is perfect for both city rides and highway cruises.

At least twice a week I take bike to office which is 48km return run (Hinjewadi). Usually getting 42-43 KmPL mileage with 50:50 city + highway riding.

Have observed the starting issues when I didn't use the bike in monsoon for longer time. Now I ensure I at least go for a short ride once every week in case I don't use the bike.

The other challenge I have is headlight. The low beam is too low so you can't use it beyond speed of 30 or so or while cornering while high beam is too high. Lowering high beam down is the only solution I have found which works for me on my way back from Hinjewadi at night time.
