Re: Yamaha launches Fascino scooter at Rs. 52,500

Disappointed Yamaha choose to introduce this instead of the Nozza Grande Equivalent.

Nozza Grande would have had a front fuel opening, Fuel Injection, Better underseat space and more Power. It would have been an alternative to the Vespa, Activa 125 space.

This is just another scooter in the 100-110 space with no differentiation.

Nice. Looks retro but one of the first thoughts that came to my mind:

Isn't that a Vespa look-alike !! ?

So, Retro-Look is back to the market ! Sweet pricing too.
Will have to see how big or tiny it looks in real.

Why Yamaha, why?

Retro look or not, to me this looks like a Chinese knock off of the Vespa.

Re: Yamaha launches Fascino scooter at Rs. 52,500

Too many cuts n creases for my liking. This won't eat from Vespa sales at all.
Why? Beacuse it lacks what Vespa has in plenty:Heritage. Looks like another 110cc scooter to trundle around in town according to me. No matter how much they try, manufacturers will never be able to oversell the Activa. And yes, Honda will continue to launch 'em stickered versions like'Activah'.

We need a new segment in India:150cc gearless scooters. Let's see who gets it first.

Good name though. I like it. But, overall, I would anyday pick the Ray Z frim the Yamaha stable. That looks much better.

Yo Japs, better stick to your good ol' designs. Be it Fiat or Piaggio, Italians are in the league of their own.

Cheers,

Re: Yamaha launches Fascino scooter at Rs. 52,500

For the benefit of readers, posting more pics...

Ray, Alpha and Fascino share the same platform in terms of chassis and engine.

IMHO, its a quick fix from Yamaha to restrict the footfalls of Vespa showrooms.

However, The Yamaha Vino - 125 would be the full fledged Vespa competitor in terms of styling, power, braking and so on and so forth.

Had seen Vino at ARAI a year back. Would like to see it on the Indian roads soon.

Made to look and sound like Italian though, could have been better off without the chrome bits and car like front grill.
