All these are a bit difficult to achieve when we try and modify existing line of bulls. Esp the frame and suspension bit. A lot of garages have been doing these modifications, but its like a compromise, win some, loose some. A good dedicated, purpose built adventure bike from the factory definitely sounds like need of the hour.

Just passing along a hearsay.

A friend recently visited an RE showroom to check some prices and he got a glimpse of the current price list. There was a particular bike mentioned as 'CAMO BIKE' priced at INR2.3Lakhs (1.98Lakhs Ex-Showroom) OTR Bangalore. The sales guy mentioned confidently that it is the Himalayan's price break up.



I never trust the sales guys with anything unless I can see it and verify it. So can't say if it is completely true or not!

Folks, sorry for a very noob question. During the initial days of the testing of the Himalayan, there was a mention that the bike will come in 2 engine variants. 400 CC and 750 CC liquid cooled.

Any idea if the bigger engine variant is planned at all.

The rumored engine capacity figure is 410cc, which is, well, a rumor as there is no official confirmation. But the 750cc LC engine possibilities can be ruled out as none of the spy pics revealed any big radiators to cool a mammoth 750cc engine. So I believe that the only engine will be a 400/410cc oil cooled OHC Single.

No 750 cc in sight. A rumor

The 410 cc is also oil cooled, not liquid cooled

Yep, I felt the same when he was doing the jumps.

What I felt more evident was the soft rear suspension., or was it set soft?
It looked like it was bottoming out quite often. One of the grabs on the video posted above shows the rear quite compressed.

I don't mind it being soft since it will add to the comfort factor with the long front travel suspension on bad roads . Concern is over a loaded bike with pillion and how it will affect the ride. Shouldn't end up like a car when loaded with luggage and passengers.

I was not too happy with the power output. The gearing and torque maybe good for what the bike is intended for and it may do 100 all day comfortably as Sid Lal mentioned in the blog, but what if you need that burst of power above that?
