Yes there is. Head on to the "Himalayan" link on the Royal Enfield website.

I have received a few SMS's over the last week or so from Royal Enfield that provided the link to watch the official reveal of the Himalayan. I guess other owners must have got the same messages.

I got this email stating the launch is at 11.15 am today.

Today's launches - Himalayan and VW Ameo. Brezza launch is scheduled tomorrow.

Youtube link for the launch.

Little more than a hour to go.

I waited for the launch and felt like a jack ass 1 minute after 11.15 AM. When will these guys learn ? Simply wasting the time of others. Sabko ek saath ullu banadiya..:D Any way it was a Himalayan blunder from my part for deciding to watch the launch live.:Frustrati

edit : After looping the vertigo inducing video for 15 minutes, the function started at 11.30.

Here is a picture from launch event

Fuel tank - 15 litres
Kerb weight - 182 kg
410cc engine
10000 Km service interval
32 NM torque
220 mm ground clearance
seat height 800 mm

Himalayan

24.5 bhp, 32 Nm, 411 cc carb engine, 200 mm front suspension & 180 mm rear suspension, 15 L fuel tank, front & rear discs, 182 kgs, 800 mm seat height, 220 mm Ground Clearance.

Wow I think I just went back in time. This thing here is a time machine!

How difficult is it for someone to give us a versys engine in a klr package.

Pricing will be out only in mid-March.
Wonder why two different launches?

Interesting and fun to watch a launch by an enthusiast himself compared to launches were it is just business with no passion for the product.

So there is no fared version ???

Finally.! I guess its safe to say,Royal Enfield have done a decent job. were we expecting more? with all the rumors going around, i surely was expecting more. But not to take any credit away from what the RE engineers have been able to come up with, it surely is a bike that will take the rider to places far and beyond.
A simple engine, modest design and more importantly a bike with provision for all the necessary accessories to be mounted when you decide break off the monotony that has set in.

Cribs:
  1. Will the engine be a tad under powered for a two up ride? 24.5bhp. its got a decent torque though.
  2. 21 inch wheel, i am sure is there for a purpose, but what about after market options?
  3. the hard panniers could have looked better.
In favour of:
  1. 220mm ground clearance
  2. isn't humongous, will not be intimidating to go on trails.
  3. spoke wheels - no fear alloys breaking under high stress.
  4. from videos and posts, it might not have the infamous vibrations
  5. ready made accessories and mount points, no jugaad required.
  6. 10000kms service interval, even if it can do an 8k i would be happy.
Launch:
They plan to reveal the price mid march and deliveries by march end. Sounds exciting.

To ensure no unexpected Auto Expo surprises catch them off guard?

I think they are currently building up the inventory required. But want to ensure that customers wait for it, since now you know the exact scenario. Otherwise there might be some who might go for another bike, just because royal enfield came late to the party.

Like. Pretty amazing for RE to pull this off. An all new design which is a departure from what they usually make. No mention of ABS so I guess it ain't there.
