TVS launches Scooty Zest 110 in India at Rs. 42,300

TVS Motors Company has launched the Scooty Zest 110 in India at a price of Rs. 42,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year, the Scooty Zest 110 is 1770 mm long, 660 mm wide and 1139 mm high with a wheelbase of 1250 mm. The scooter weighs 97 kg and comes with an under-seat storage capacity of 19 litres. TVS has provided additional storage options such as an open glove box, foldable bag hook and under-seat bag hook. The instrument cluster consists of a backlit speedometer, trip meter and fuel gauge with an econometer a long idling indicator.

The Scooty Zest 110 is powered by a 109.7 cc, single-cylinder, 4-storke, air-cooled engine that develops 7.9 bhp @ 7500 rpm and 8.8 Nm of torque @ 5500 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a CVT-i gearbox. TVS claims that the Scooty Zest 110 can do a 0-60 kph sprint in 11.1 seconds and return 62 kpl. Stopping power is provided by 110 mm and 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear respectively. A parking brake has been provided as well.

The Scooty Zest 110 uses a telescopic fork front suspension and a monoshock at the rear. The scooter rides on 90/100-10 and 90/90-10 section tubeless tyres at the front and rear respectively.

Other features include an LED tail lamp, 5-litre fuel tank, stainless steel muffler guard, double-stitched seats, textured floor board and centre stand.

I guess the target audience will be the college going gang. For families there's already the Wego and Jupiter. Does this mean they will discontinue the Streak and Pep+ since they are in < 100 cc bracket and nobody these days opts for the products.

Difference between the scooters in the Scooty range is the displacement, dimensions. Weight wise all are almost in the same range.

I have recently ( Aug 16th - to be precise) bought a TVS WEGO refresh (2014) for my wife and there was no hint at all in the showroom by the sales guy!

I think the scooty zest has the advantage of having lesser weight than the wego ( 9kgs vs 110kgs) and with the same engine powering both... it must be fun to zip along! I still do not know if i should regret but a thought worth giving if you are planning to buy a wego!

So we have 2 zests now in market! One in the car segment and another in the 2 wheeler segment; both manufactured by Indian companies. Though the one with 4 wheels is a showstopper!

I find it hard to believe TVS scooty is around since 1993! Just like Splendour.
Way to go TVS!

Now that's called a evolution and going strong with every product life cycle refresh! Kudos to the TVS design team!

The only thing I find a little odd are those 'gum boots' tyres! Hope these fatty rubbers would have made more sense on the jupiter!!

You spoke too soon, Mahindra in a week's time will be launching a scooter too and guess what it is being called - 'Zesto'

All Indian companies and all with similar names, its going to be interesting to watch how the similar names conflict pans out

Ohhh..is it?

To me 'Zesto' sounds crude; boring..I guess its M&M's obsession with the alphabet "O". Every name ends with "O"... Scorpio, Bolero, XUV5OO, Xylo, Quanto, Rodeo, Centuro, Mojo!!

Thank God Thar is saved from this..Otherwise it would have been named Tharo

Never thought companies have also become superstitious like Ekkkta Kapooor!

Re: TVS launches Scooty Zest 110 in India at Rs. 42,300

Happened to purchase TVS Scooty Zest 110 for wife during Dassera time. We considered Jupiter, Wego, Activa, Activa-i before closing on Zest 110.

Main factors influencing decision in favour of Zest 110,

- no compromise on power (as its having same engine doing duty in Jupiter/Wego)
- easy/quick access to ground (wife being newbie to scooter driving this point was a key factor in favour of Zest)
- cute and fresh looks, yet, solid and sturdy build (telescopic suspension in front and wide tyres)
- relatively gender neutral compared to all previous versions of Scooty

Went in for extended warraty, so overall we have 5 years / 60K warranty coverage (2 yrs OEM + 3 yrs extended).

Overall it costed 55K on road, believe either the price mentioned in thread heading is misleading, or, we were taken for a ride by dealer?

Believe TVS ZEST's immediate competitor is Active-i and Zest beats Active-i on all fronts (looks, features, storage space, ride comfort, seating comfort, build quality) except after sales support where believe Honda leads others by a big margin.

Have selected a desi brand considering it was offering more attractive and value for money package at the same price as foreign competition, however, on service front there is only one sales/service outlet of TVS in Thane, hence, the decision is a little risky considering sales volume and service coverage of TVS in the region, Hope TVS SCOOTY ZEST 110 lives up to our expectations!

Congrats on the new scooter!

The price in the thread title is ex-showroom Delhi. The price you have paid is On-Road price in your city (ex-showroom will be different for each city) which is inclusive of road tax, insurance, extended warranty, any accessories etc. So dealer should ideally not have taken you for a ride (unless he has overcharged for the accessories if you have bought any).

Regarding service, though you have only one service center, the scooter should be free of major issues since the engine and mechanical parts are tried and tested in the Wego. And Honda having better service coverage in terms of number of service centers might be good but the service experience is average at best at most of these places too atleast here in Bangalore.
