Very True...I had changed the front tyre to Ceat Secura Sport 2.75X18 from the original 2.5X18.
earlier the front would go off the track on slight race of throttle scarily...now it feels more planted.

Also yesterday changed the handle of the bike to a pulsar handle.dunno how good is it.gotto take a long ride to test tomorrow.

here is a latest pic.sorry for the bad quality

Initial impressions about the Ceat Secura is very good.It feels more grippy than the MRF moto D 3X18 in the rear.
As of now on strong braking it feels like the rear slides out slightly.Need to check tht tomorrow

Infact I didnt know it was in 3rd gear ,when it stopped accelerating further after 80 is when I recognized that it was in 3rd gear...

So do you really mean ,the bike need to be ported to touch 75km/hr .
But I could feel my bikes engine crying @ that speed..

2 Things Either your speedo is totally off as the RXs box shifts at 60kmph for the stock bore. this marking is on some speedos as well and this was what my bike was hitting prior to the porting/polishing.

And/OR you are pulling much more than your bike should handle.

If and when you come to bangalore.. take a ride on my bike and you will feel it right in the power band at 75 on 3rd.

Man 80kmph or almost 80 (on the speedo) on a stock RX135 in third gear is very much possible if revved to shake it's tits off. No it doesn't have to be ported to do the speeds you did, a proper jetting and carb tune up would do wonders. But RXG135 would really struggle to do 80 clicks in stock form.

I had a RX135 5S which was kind of a drag spec bike that i used on the streets she used to hit a proper 70+kmph in 2nd gear. Speed was measured with a calibrated Sigma digital speedo. Top end was quite good at a lil more than 140 on the speed gun

Hi guys i have a '98 4-speed rx-135, i want to if anyone has ever tried a synthetic oil for the gearbox and also will it be good or bad for the bike? Currently i'm running veedol turbo & i'm not so happy with the gearshift after long rides. I spoke to an oil dealer in my area and he suggested not to stright away jump to synthetic, he said its better to run Mobil 4T for 3600 kms and then move to the synthetic oil.

Hi, i have a '98 4-speed Rx-135 & i want to know if its ok to use a synthetic oil for the gearbox. I spoke to a local oil dealer who stocks oils from mobil & he said i should straight away jump to synthetic, currently i'm running veedol turbo. He suggests that i use the mobil 4T for 3600 kms & then use the synthetic. I'm not happy with the current oil as on long rides i dont think it can handle the heat and the gearshifts are not that smooth if i ride long & hard, if i ride slowly then its fine. Hopefully you guys will give some usefull inputs.

P.S:- Sorry for the second post, 1st time i had a problem with my pc.

My bikes shocks are over a decade old. I think its time for a replacement. What bigger/better shocks can be installed without any serious mods to the chassis?

All of a sudden then handling has gone for a toss, i suspect the front rim/fork has a major bend. Also Iv used a shogun/fury handle in the past. Currently running the shogun handle, its time to change that too. What are you guys using?

Next would be an engine overhaul/re-bore. As I mentioned earlier bike has been run without oil on a number of occasions :(

Since this thread is active, I'm posting on behalf of a friend. He's looking for some RX spares. Need info on second hand or brand new and where to get it. For starters, he needs:

RX Seat Base (without the seat recommended)

Price would be great too.

A brand new seat costed me around 400 bucks in Delhi...for RXG with plastic base. not the metal one.

My main need is functionality and comfort. It doesnt have to look extra cool because my bike is in stock mode.

Whats the cost of a new set of rear shocks for the RX (market price, not yamaha dealership)

Hi, I own a 1995 RX100, with absolutely no modifications done. I have rebored 2 times and this time my Mechanic recommends me to change the bore to that of a RX135 (with changing of shaft) which he says suits fine on the Rx100. The advantages he claims is better milage and better initial pick up.

Please advice.
