New faired-in Pulsar 200 in the works?

Wow, so Bajaj's working a new variant of the Pulsar 200. From the looks of it, this looks more in-line with the Yamaha R15 V2.0 types. Loved the look of that huge fuel tank. To me, this looks quite big in size, the overall bike that is. More on the lines of some good 300-400 cc ones. 200 wont be a bit puny?

Anyway, here's the link http://www.autocarindia.com/auto-new...ed-361967.aspx

Re: New faired-in Pulsar 200 in the works?

It is Definitely a bigger Pulsar.
Bajaj is one company which while launching new models doesn't hesitate or stay back on increasing the performance. So IMO, it will have a more powerful engine, maybe the much speculated 375 cc Pulsar.

The huge tank looks cool, and the alloys carry the same design as the 200NS.

So now I can see what I'll be buying next

Re: New faired-in Pulsar 200 in the works?

Seems like its a faired version of the naked bike pulsar 200ns. Rumours are that it'll be sold for about 10k more than the 200ns and that its called as 200ss.
Check out this link.

Err, doesn't that look exactly like the CBR 250R? Or the 300?

The tail section, alloys and the rear tyre hugger confirms that it is a pulsar. But, isn't it looking too similar to the CBR 250r ?

It dies look like the current baby ceeber! But with the CBR already facelifted/upgraded, the current CBR will be soon gone.
And history shows us that the pulsar has never been mistaken for a different bike, sometime for its younger siblings but never for another bike. It is actually difficult to make out the lines from the camouflage, but I am pretty sure that Bajaj will have a few tricks up its sleeve to make it stand out in the market.
Also the alloys are a sureshot giveaway that chances are high it is be a pulsar. Also, did you guys notice the headlamp fairing are which has a small kink, which looks a bit different than the ceeber?

Looks like a capable machine. Hope Bajaj will price it competitively so that it can comfortably take on Honda CBR250R.

Bajaj is known to price its bikes competitively. I love this bike. Eagerly waiting for the launch. Will book it without a second thought if priced around 1.1 to 1.2 L

Ooh la la. I love it!! The seats look ultra-comfortable. Yes; i do agree- it does look very similar to the CBR- doesnt it? But I wont complain as I actually love the look of the CBR. Reminds me of my younger days when the CBZ was just launched. Then the TVS Victor V1 came in. With that huge faired headlight; a lot of people used to mistake it for the CBZ (from the front). The CBZ customers were screaming at the top of their lungs for the copy paste job while the Victor customers were enjoying the attention!

Good news is this bike is shod with ABS. Look at the ABS ring on the front disc. Is the rumor tilt more towards the 375 now?

The tyres are still Eurogrip though, that is why my guess would be a faired 200. Those tyres are too scary to be put on a 40bhp bike (assuming the 375 pulsar is going to make similar figures as the Duke 390).

Re: New faired-in Pulsar 200 in the works?

My guess its the P375. The twin projector setup could be seen below the visor. The overall bulky stance too makes it tilt more towards the bigger sibbling.

Re: New faired-in Pulsar 200 in the works?

Motorbeam.com seems to think that this bike is a P 375 and explains here http://www.motorbeam.com/bikes/bajaj...a-launch-soon/
And at 1.7 on road seems delightful

Re: New faired-in Pulsar 200 in the works?

Looking closely at the picture, this bike has ABS senor assembly as Standard. Going by this I strongly feel that this is a 375CC motorcycle just like KTM Duke 390?

Re: New faired-in Pulsar 200 in the works?

Personally I think Bajaj has got to a point where they can induce "hooliganess" in the Indian biking scene, and I don't how Bajaj does that, even still.

The good part is the silencer, low flung, and hope it's a real eye catcher too.

Cheers!
