Hero MotoCorp unveils lineup of 15 updated Bikes

Motorbeam have reported that the biggest two-wheeler manufacturing company in the world Hero MotorCorp have unveiled lineup of 15 updated bikes at an even in Gurgaon.

More details here:

http://www.motorbeam.com/bikes/hero-...neup-of-bikes/

These include the Splendor i-Smart, Xtreme, Pleasure, Karizma R & Karizma ZMR & come with next-gen features like i3S, electronic immobiliser & integrated braking system.

PS : The ZMA & ZMR do not look as bad in these snaps as have been made out by bad photographers few days back. Also, bit of Googling made me learn that the torque number on both ZMA & ZMR have increased a bit to 19.35Nm @ 6000rpm & 19.7Nm @ 6500rpm respectively. Bhp number are still unavailable.

All said and done, I wouldn't want to hop upon any of the Hero machines just for the way they look! Either the design is bad or the product is so heavily disguised with stickers that it becomes impossible for anyone to stick any other sticker of their choice!!

Also, look at the paint schemes! poor pleasure, it looks so very pathetic wearing those dual colors!!! I somehow feel the disinterest is shown right up there on Munjal's face! just look at him! seems he's at the launch event with absolutely no interest!!

Man! That Karizma looks down right pathetic!
It looks like some roadside rogue tried his hand at some cosmetic modification job on the existing ZMR and ended up with this. -.-

For me the classic Karizma R still remains the handsomest of all the Hero bikes, hope they have not messed up with the looks of it too.

Re: Hero MotoCorp unveils lineup of 15 updated Bikes

Wow what is going wrong with the Hero? Are they feeling the strains after they split up with Honda? This is outright pathetic especially on the Karizma.
But yes the Splendor will still continue to sell till Honda have made their presence all round the country. Unless Hero comes up with something innovative they will soon be dead meat. Looks like the tie up with Buell is doing no wonders.

Atleast they could have launched the impulse with the Karizma engine as an optional

OMG a flood of new stickers and headlights from HERO
No matter how much other manufactures harp about their new engines (more valves, more BHP, more CCs) Hero fanboys will lap up these rides soon...

Am waiting for the engine specs of these rides. Has anything changed at all?

Re: Hero MotoCorp unveils lineup of 15 updated Bikes

Hero is still struggling with the looks of their vehicles, I guess they have chosen not to grow with times in comparison with their competitors i.e. Bajaj. They are still moving around with stickers and somewhat changes in design, no new products to appeal. I guess their entry level bikes like Splendor contribute to the vast sales numbers across India and they don't seem interested in moving up the ladder from this segment.

If I would have been shown only the right half of the pic, I would pass it as a 220's cousin.
Actually, I was thinking where have I seen such a bike, and I realised infact it looks strikingly similar to the fake "New Pulsar 350" renders which flood the net and social network sites..

Talking about the Right top corner pic..
P.S. : My 220th post and talking about the 220... :P

At least they managed to keep the spark-plug cap & rear suspension colour coded

I wouldn't be surprised if the old Karizma-R owners sell their bikes at a premium now.

What is that 'thing' in blue & silver in the extreme left? Assembly of bikes of different colours by a colour blind worker?
What are these guys smoking these days?

Re: Hero MotoCorp unveils lineup of 15 updated Bikes

Yeowwwww! I'm aghast! I was thinking of buying a new Karizma R (the existing version) in a couple of years (no money right now), but i think i will have to take a loan out now and buy it from the stock at the dealerships! What have they done! This is not taking a page out of the Pulsar 220 book. This is taking all the pages except for 1 out from the Pulsar 220 book!

Re: Hero MotoCorp unveils lineup of 15 updated Bikes

Yesterday Mr.Adil (of ZigWheels) described this news correctly. One of his tweet - "Hero MotoCorp has launched 10 tape n sticker jobs on existing models today and 5 newly clothed variants of Karizma, Pleasure and Splendor".

Re: Hero MotoCorp unveils lineup of 15 updated Bikes

Hello,

I think Indian passenger car / bike market is mature enough now & mere cosmetic jobs to old generation models do not sell.

I strongly feel that Hero needs to get out of the Spenldor mindset. It has been more than 1.5 decades since they are selling Splendor brand & still trying to cash in by launching bikes with Splendor name.

A classic example would be Pulsar 200 NS. Though Bajaj has retained Pulsar name, but the new bike is miles apart (above) the old generation Pulsar.

Hero needs to pull up it's R & D department & launch new products rather than cosmetic changes to existing products. Otherwise Bajaj & Honda will eat the market share & Hero will become a toothless tiger who once ruled the country.

Thanks,

Re: Hero MotoCorp unveils lineup of 15 updated Bikes

No RVMs on Karizma? A company should not 'remove' safety parts of their bikes just to make them look good, it sets a bad example of consumers following suit.

And Karizma R got a new face after 10 years! Somehow I don't think its as bad as it's made out to be.
