Duke is certainly not the bike for you, sorry for being blunt. Have you seen a jockey tame his horse, well that's the posture Duke offers you :D

I might be a bit exaggerating but that's how I feel every time I ride my 44 horses & I never ever get bored of it.

Experiences with S.C. varies from showroom to showroom, visits really depend on how you take care of your mate.

On Himalayan: I wouldn't really consider Himalayan for hardcore touring, it lacks power. You could consider Versys.

Thanks for the inputs.

Versys is not my requirement neither in my price bracket. I would look at G310 probably. However coming from R15 i doubt if i would find dukes posture aggressive (when i say relaxed i meant more about the seating posture). Refinement and reliability also plays a major role. Also new duke is taller. I am worried about that :(

Along with refinement reliability is also something that im worried about. For example how frequent you have to visit S.C excluding your routine periodic maintenance(irrespective of the serious or nature of the issue/situation)? Only a long term owner can comment on that.

I got the first bike delivered in S. India :D That makes me a legit long term owner (Over 3 years). I don't remember heading to service center for any specific major niggle. That said, I don't ride a lot nowadays, so there are many people who have munched more miles than me

One thing I remember was digital speedo showing 0 when I was moving. Other than that, it has been perfect. (No oil leakage etc)

As far the options you have put forth, CBR im not considered as it wouldn't be a worthy upgrade from R15 as I believe I might grow too familiar with power increase too soon. ie the increase is not substantial in comparison to other options. Regarding R3 and Ninja, two reasons for not considering. I want a relaxed riding posture. Compared to R15 R3 might have relaxed posture, still wont be as much as Duke or G310. Also ABS is a valuable addition considering our road situation. Do not want to overlook that.
ABS is a life saver. (Multiple occasions!) That's why I suggested CBR. The *only* reason I haven't picked up an R3 is that it doesn't have ABS
