You can use this as well to check year of manufacture. Shows region as austria along with serial number.

So here is another trick. Switch to MPH and you will see the bike riding at docile speed hardly hitting 60 or 70. After few trips my updates are as follows

- One of the best suspension set up you will get.
- The inverted suspension eats up most of the uneven roads. If its bigger, just slow down. - The rear suspension is just brilliant.
- Brakes will keep assuring you that you can stop the bike anytime you want to. Never had a chance to use the ABS and never want a chance to use the ABS. Not worth it.
- The handle bar is set up pretty low from dealership. Just sit on the bike and get this adjusted so you are getting a slight arc at your elbow. Post setting up the handle bar the ride has become more comfortable.
- The sound is very prominent in the sense, people will know you are coming for the auto/bike mix sound that this bike generates is greatly audible.


Horn is absolutely HORRIBLE. Useless for our country and for my city. Even a TVS 50 has better honk. Turn lights need the beeper. Half the time i forget to neutralize that switch.

At 6'1 seating position is fairly good. Can feel the heat when you are riding pretty slow between 0-1kmph. Stationary the heat is definitely being taken away. One can hear the radiator switch on even at stationary position.

The heat is higher than what you would have experienced in a bull 500. But definitely manageable for one can feel it only while riding between 0-10 and not stationary or above 10kmph.

The rear view mirrors are pretty useless till this point. You are fairly concentrating on using whatever gaps in the road and placing this little rocket.

The bike is definitely easier to handle, very nimble and super light.

Does this apply for a new motorcycle ? I don't recall getting one when I took delivery of my new car.

You don't need one until the vehicle is 6 months old. Plus, if there's no number on the bike yet, what will the guy at the bunk capture a photo of!

BTW, always thought that no emissions certificate is needed for 1 year after purchase of a new vehicle.

Congratulations . Liked the look without 390 decal. It is much better than black. Have to see black matte in flesh to decide on it.

Would like to disagree on official bike review comment. Ninja 650 has a dedicated thread. But I say 390 definitely needs a official review.

For new vehicle for 1 year one does not need emission certificate. Your check list is so huge that i wonder if you will have time to do the PDI. For you will be itching to just get out of the dealer asap.

In fact i just checked my engine and VIN to ensure its the same in the booklet :) and documents.

THe point is that it is better to do this before delivery. After, invariably, they get very snooty.

Isn't the kerb weight of 390 139kgs? Or thats what I was under the impression. I was feeling pretty chaffed about the fact that my new-would be bike weighs in much lower than my first gen classic Pulsar 180 (above 150 kgs). :D

Pls refer opening post. I think 139, which you are quoting is without fuel.

I also fail to understand why fuel is taken into account in kerb weight! stupid:

I also used to feel the same way, until some one more knowledgible explained that to me

Kerb Weight = the weight of the vehicle when its ready to be driven on a public road.

Though these days not many fill a fuel tank to "full" due to various reasons - auto makers still do assume that when you fill you do full tank - and hence that adds to the actual weight of the vehicle when its ready to be driven/ridden.

Same way for commercial vehicles the RLW/FLW is including the load+full fuel.

Trivandrum folks, any information from the dealer on the delivery date? As of now they have no clue on by what date they will get the bikes. Anyone has any different info?

I got the call from kTM indiranagar to go and finish the formalities. Should be going on Saturday to complete the formalities
