Nice travelogue!

Loved the windshield, please share details.

Source, price and how does it hold up at high speeds? Did you notice any comfort at high speeds against the wind blast?

TIA!

Bought it from Aliexpress for about 20usd. Shipped within 15 days and holding up perfectly fine.

It reduces the windblast, but then I rarely go above 120-125kmph.

I have the same windshield but in black color. I don't use it any longer - can give it you if you want.

Ah nice! Can you please post a pic of the windshield on your bike? I wanna see how it looks, the transparent one looks pretty neat. Did you buy it from aliexpress as well?

Is there any sort of VIN for the D 390?

The speedo is connected to the front tire or the rear? Easy for SVC to remove and give it for test-rides?

Yes all vehicles do have their birth mark VIN. And the speedo sensor for the 390 is the front wheel, unlike rear wheel on most class bikes out there.

Cheers!

Hey guys. Does anyone have an Ixil L3X exhaust mounted on their bike?

Yes a friend / colleague had. What exactly are you looking for

Hi all,

This little mod is useful for all those non slipper clutch D390's owners who feel their clutch is heavy especially when maneuvering the bike in city environments.

The simple mod involves replacing the shaft/spindle where the clutch cable gets attached to the clutch (near the engine/clutch case) with the one from the RC390. Cost is around 130INR. This would require one to open the clutch case so will need a clutch case packing too.

The length of the lever connected to the shaft (where the clutch cable gets attached) is a bit longer than that on the older D390's this results in reduction of effort needed to pull the clutch thereby reducing the heaviness when riding on clogged city streets.

Hope this helps :)

I bought an used Ixil off olx but the chap didn't send me the pipe holder that connects the exhaust to the two rear break pumps. I wanted the dimensions of the pipe holder to get it fabricated. I'm trying to find dimensions or any information online but haven't come across anything so far.
Would be great help if you could check with your friend/ colleague.

Thanks in advance

Guys any of of you have mounted Auxiliary led lamps?
I want to mount on my bike for more illumination and visibility.

Any recommendations? Anything of help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hey Guys,

Just finished my second free service.

Details:
1. Bike has run 5238 kms, serviced at KTM - Sai service station phugewadi, pune, nice big airy place and the service people were good too
2. Cost: 2200 Rs
3. Parts changed: Spark plug, fuel filter, engine oil, air filter, oil filter

Few questions:
1. I was charged 230 rs for "Pure labor", not sure why, labor for changing the filters and stuff? Service was free.
2. Engine oil capacity for the D390 is 1.6L, the fellow filled the whole 1.5L Motul can, remaining 100 ml? Does it make any difference? Or the engine has some leftover oil after draining which compensates for the 100 ml?

Overall the bike feels the same, absolutely no difference.:)
Another observation, the service intervals are very confusing. First service was at 45 days or 1000 kms. 2nd was 150 days or 8500 kms. Now the third is quite close at 16000 kms or 240 days (which is just 3 months from now). Changing the fully synthetic oil after 3 months sounds stupid to me, any thoughts? Also, what interval do you guys maintain during paid service?

IMO, unless there is some sort of a warranty problem if you don't change the oil, it would be silly to base the oil change interval on time.

Oil does not deteriorate or wear out just sitting in your crankcase or oil tank.

I always go by the distanced covered, never a fixed number of weeks or months and none of my vehicles have ever had a problem with any oil related difficulties.

Now, if the manufacturer will void your warranty if you don't follow his rules (be they silly or not) then you have to decide if paying for an oil change you don't really need is worth it or not to keep the warranty active.

I am looking to replace my Duke`s rear tyre which has aged gracefully with a mileage of 12000 kms and looked over different tyre options available and short listed below brands.
1. Michelin Pilot Street Radial 150/60
2. Pirelli Sport Demon 140/70
3. Metzeler Sportec M5 150/60

Even though Metzeler is too pricey and wears out very quickly than other tyres, but I believe this is the best tyre for Dukes. However off late I have heard some good reviews about Michelin and PSD. I would like to know if any of you folks have been using it if so can you please share your feedback on it.

After what period of time did you guys change your Duke battery? I think mine is gone. Randomly when I press the starter switch, the console goes blank and it shows some code like "J_17.*****".
