The Service centre guys are taking you for a ride. The ecu and pump are available separately and i am not sure how come they came to a total price of 35k. The ECU is for around 9k as the same was changed on my bike under warranty.

I thought as much. I was told that only the ABS pump cannot be procured and that the ABS ECU and Pump needs to be bought together. I've been running around without ABS for the last few days. Had to make some rather drastic changes to my breaking habits due to this. The ABS light is mostly on now. I've learned to ignore the light for now but I am more cautious during breaking now. I've had a couple of rear wheel slides already. It was fun, but only because I was expecting the rear to slide. Under sudden breaking, I am not sure if its gonna be as much fun stupid:

Checked with my friends D200 (purchased together with me) and his bike also have the same issue.

How serious is the problem?

Has anyone found same issue with D390?

This is absolutely normal. I have changed my head gasket once on my D390 and it's fit after that. Also look for leaks near the alternator casing. The wire outlet port is prone for leakage.

Yup, it does get some time to get used to riding without ABS all of a sudden as you are always relying on it at the back of your mind. Do get it fixed soon. Ride safe.

IMO, that is not a head gasket leak.
It is merely a seepage of oil past the rubber seal that plugs the hole thru which the camshaft bearing journals were machined.

If the motorcycle is still under warranty you could ask the service department to fix it.

If the motorcycle is out of warranty I would just consider it as a minor annoyance and clean the oil off with soap and water or with rubbing alcohol on a rag.

It does not represent anything that will ever become a major issue.

For Pune KTM Owners.

Red liner, did a pressure wash and there was not even a single drop of water or moisture entered the light casing. It's completely water tight and works like charm ! :) Holds well in rain too, although due to white, lights gets dispersed. Rest all good. :D

Some observations regarding moisture entering the D390's console & headlight casing:

After a pressure wash the headlight casing and the MID console had no traces of water. But on the weekend ride the console & headlight casing had moisture which dried up after the ride was over. It could be the rain, not sure. I observed the moisture during a dry ride though. My buddy showed me the same stuff on his Ninja300:D After a little research, I feel its a common phenomenon with all KTM's!

I have a problem - any help is appreciated.

I parked my 390 2 weeks ago. Things were mostly fine. Yesterday it just would not start. Cranks fine. But does not catch.

There is enough fuel.

How do i proceed?

Check the spark plug cable and the injector. If its cranking then the electrical's are working fine, some issue with the intake definitely.
This is from my experience with Royal enfields:D

Possibilities:

1. Air lock. Try opening the fuel lid.
2. Malfunctioning fuel pump. Ensure you hear the pump prime when you turn ignition on.
3. Failed spark plug.
4. Busted fuse or some other electrical issue.
5. Malfunctioning sensor that's not allowing the engine to start. E.g. Side stand sensor.
6. Flooded combustion chamber.

Sorry - was not clear. The engine turns but does not fire.

This might be a pointer. It makes a weird whining noise. How do I figure out if it is working?

Side stand sensor is working. What other sensor?

How do I deflood it?

Does KTM offer a roadside assistance service? Anybody know how I can access it?

Thanks a ton folks for all the advice & help. Really appreciate it.

Sprag clutch engages and disengages the starter motor when it works. If the sprag clutch is busted, the starter would freely turn without cranking the engine. If you are sure that the engine is cranking, then you can eliminate this possibility

......

All things check out, the only option is to either get the KTM engineer to where bike is (easier) or take the bike to service center. It seems like electronic problem for sure.
