The faired bike from KTM that will come later will be a 250.

The one that will get launched anywhere between April to June this year will be a Duke 390.

Different engine platform to the 125/200 platform.

Different chassis (different materials, rake, ground clearance, seat height, length, suspension spring rates).

Different brakes (+ABS).

Buy the Street Triple man. I'll get the 390. Then we can swap.

Bro to be honest I have no hope about Triumph coming in, if at all, this year as well as the first half of the next.

There are many cases of such big plans coming a cropper and fizzling out. And somehow I get the sense of deja vu reading these highly scripted "coming soon" "coming now" types of releases from Triumph.

If and when they do come, we will see. Till then there is an itch that needs to be scratched.

And its flaming orange.

Re: KTM to buy Husqvarna

Whoppeeee, KTM Bajaj plans to bring the Swede to India!

http://www.overdrive.in/details/2765...-India-by-2015

One question though, I had read in some forum that the CEO of KTM Stefan Pierer had bought the brand not under KTM but for own company Pierer Industries.

http://www.autoblog.com/2013/02/01/h...stefan-pierer/
Then how will the KTM Bajaj come into picture. Confused

Re: KTM to buy Husqvarna

Interesting to note that there will be Huskies on the Duke 125/200 platform.

And that eventually the brand/product position strategy will have Bajaj followed by Husky followed by KTM from one end of the spectrum to the other.

Which basically means a Husky 200 would slot in somewhere around the 1.25 Lac mark OTR.

Happy days indeed!

Re: KTM to buy Husqvarna

Pierer outlines KTM's and Husqvarna's plan for India.

Quote:
After the recent acquisition of Husqvarna from BMW, KTM CEO Stefan Pierer confirmed rolling out of Husqvarna motorcycles from Bajaj’s Chakan Factory within a 2 year time frame. Also affirming that the KTM 390 Duke would start exporting from Chakan to the US in 2014 and later to the European markets.
Maybe in two years time we will see the first Husky models which are coming from the Chakan production line. Also to use the joint engine platforms of Baja/KTM also for the Husqvarna for 125/200, so that Husqvarna is also able to enter one or the other emerging markets.
