And if you add Pods to this setup, you suddenly have a modular luggage system, which is easy to assemble/dissemble. Your total carrying capacity also increases to 48+12/22 = 60/70/82 L, which is a lot.
If you are just going for 2-5 days tour, P22 is more than enough.

I have both P12 & P22. In few days I will be ordering CM48. This whole setup, cumulatively, is costly(~7.5K); but the flexibility it offers is amazing. You have options to choose from 12L/22L/34L/48L/60L/70L/82L, which is simply great.

My bike touring is limited to maximum 1 trip a year that too 4-5 days(Claw Mini range). It just happens to be that I am able to negotiate a 10 days trip with HM this time . I am leaning towards not discarding the existing Claw mini(35 L) altogether for 48L. I will checkout the 12L POD at a nearby store to decide. Thanks.

Then there is actually no point in discarding the CM35. Just add P22/12 as per your requirement.

Hello Everyone,
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I recently purchased the base for the Solace Rigid Tank Bag for my Himalayan just because it acts like a protector from scratches essentially. I want to purchase the tank bag too but it is out of stock and has been for a while. I wanted to know if anyone here knows where I can get a used Solace Rigid Tank Bag (If any of the members here has one and is willing to sell it, that'd be great too) or if any other tank bag will be compatible with the base.

Friends I have a Xpulse and am planning to add an ASG 32 litre top box. Is it a good idea, not an in utility sake, but for bike handling and ergonomics,. I have used a studds top box on my Thunderbird and found the handling dodgy with the tail having a mind of its own.
Xpulse will do 90% tarmac touring and rest city usage. Will not see offroad much except Himalayas.

Would suggest to avoid the top box on the Xpulse. It will catch cross winds and as the bike is light it will cause handling issues, something with far more pronounced effect than on the Thunderbird.

The farther the load is away from the bike Center of Gravity, the more pronounced the effect will be.

Also keep in the mind the max load capacity of the top rack that comes in the bike (Should be within 5 kg to 10 kg).

If riding solo, skip the top box and use a tail bag that can be mounted on the pillion seat area.

Like to hear views between Dirtsack crash guard bags vs carbanado modpac 5L which also could be hooked up on crash guards .

I found dirtsack waterproof roll up bag in a sturdy bag that’s a place holder , while carbanado is single pc roll up bag ( also waterproof)having side zipper for quick access .

Rynox Navigator 15L Tank Bag

The Search: I never liked the idea of a bulky tank bag. It makes me less confident on a bike for a simple enough reason that it makes the area near handlebar chaotic(if it’s the right word), and in some cases even affect the manoeuvrability of the handles. The ones that suited my need were all expensive.

Following are the tank bags I narrowed down to:
1. Givi ST602B - ₹ 10k (+ ₹1.5k tank ring)
2. SW Motech 2.5-5L Quick lock evo Micro - ₹8k (+~₹3-5k for tank ring)
3. SW Motech 5-9L Quick lock evo Daypack - ₹12k
4. SW Motech 3-5L Pro Micro - ₹12k

Ray Of Hope: I was about to finalise one of the aforementioned options when Rynox’s Navigator tank bag video dropped. The bag looked great, had a slim profile, waterproof, and had Molle system(which opens up possibly of various add-ons). But I was not sure how it will feel on my bike, whether it will make my tank space cramped or its low profile will do the task. Luckily the Rynox dealer in my city received 3 pieces, and he informed me yesterday. I went straightaway to try it on, and it was near about perfect. I paid ₹4550 and now he is only left with 2 pieces

First Impression: The bag looks premium in person. Has ample space(is expandable). Fits the tank like a charm. Low profile and doesn’t hamper the movement of handle. You can leave the mounting harness attached to the tank. The harness also has opening in the middle so that filling up fuel is easy. There are both Velcro and Buckles to keep the bag attached. I have attached some pics for you guys to get a better idea.

Enough space to move handlebar. One can attach the bag lower also, and my handle is tilted a little more towards me.



Enough space in harness to open fuel lid without taking every thing off.



Closing Thoughts: The real test of bag is yet to come, but there is nothing in this price range to match this bag(at least in my scenario). Happy to see an Indian company bringing up some good products. They also have camera bag insert as an accessory for people who need. It’s a solid looking bag. Will update further after using using it for 5-10k kms.

I was also about to order from LABS, but as mentioned, I was unsure whether it will fit perfectly or not. I was lucky enough that the dealer got one. He didn’t even order, Rynox just billed him 3 pieces. Lady Luck smiled on me I suppose

Just finished a 1500 km trip in Eastern Himalayas, across the state of Sikkim.

Was using a Viaterra Claw. Over some rough roads and terrain. It stood up well and spacious enough to hold your stuff needed for a 12 day trip

Viaterra Claw with POD(12/22) is one of the best modular luggage system. Throw in a tank bag and you are sorted for at least 15 days.
I will be testing my Claw during NERM22 trip, which I am sure will include all sorts of roads.

Quite convenient to mount and dismount.
