Oh yes, the price segment of around 1.5 - 2.0 lakhs seems very interesting. I expect the VS400 to be typical VFM offering from Hamara Bajaj.

There is ample opportunity to differentiate from KTM according to me. KTM's have a young/teen like appeal... both in styling and on road performance.

The new Big Bajaj (VS400) has a mature appeal.. and would directly clash head on with the Royal Enfields which also has a similar clientele.

Nope, Bajaj Never Officially quoted V20 or V40.. it were result of wild imagination from our over enthusiastic bloggers (buggers).

I agree with most of your points but I feel its similar based on power envelop and dependability as critical factors not just the mature appeal, formerly with no CS they had little options in 300cc+ engines.

I might see that sale of c500 would take major hit if such was the case. As it stands I think bullet 350 variants are the ones selling in large numbers, it will be interesting to see if CS/VS can cut through their sales here as well.

I didn't want 350cc for reason that 500cc was more powerful and yet so cheap.

Any idea what brand and make tyres are those? Don't remember seeing such a pattern on any of the bikes on road. Just hope they are grippy

From pics of the concept shown in the Auto-Expo, the tyres are : MRF Revz C1 and FC1, the tread pattern matches those seen on the test mules as well.

110/70 R17 front tyre
150/60 R17 rear tyre

I hazard a guess that the target is the Playstation generation. Would be awesome if there are dual tone options like that Protagonist of the game though.

>>> "KRATOS" . The Mythological Greek God of War

Kratos is a character from the video game God of War. Not a mythological greek god of war

What's next? Pikachu 200?

I kind of like the name! Does sound Sci-fi!

Looks like Bajaj is betting big on this bike and I see this newbie repeating success all over again! Way to go Bajaj!!

Mr Pawan Munjal should just learn a trick or two from Bajaj! Wake up Mr Munjal, close your sticker shop and start making some real bikes!!

Good move to position it as a separate brand above pulsar. But don't you guys think they got it wrong by not doing this from day 1. Atleast they should have presented this as a KRATOS at auto expo.

There will always be something that should have been there or not. Although, it is also possible that naming the bike now may have no negative impact at all. After all, it was still a concept in the auto expo. And not everyone has been keeping their eyes for the camouflaged bikes nor hearing speculations. It will still be a fresh bike for many. Hope that this bike becomes a hit in our market.
I for one like the name :-)
