We have just added to our collection of Vespas -- a brand new 2012 Vespa LX 125. The factory colors were a bit boring, so we got ours customized. Now we have a His (1960 Vespa VBA) and a Hers (2012 Vespa LX 125) in matching livery.

The is nice collection of Vespas Man. Must be getting a lot of looks when both of them are driven at the same time. I am thinking of picking one for home. Loved the lloks from the first time I saw it in Scrubs.

If the Vespa did'nt look retro enough, now you have made it absolutely drool worthy Rex. :Cheering:

Kudos to a fantastic paint job, clap: it really enhances the retro looks of the Vespa. Been trying to convince my wife to choose the Vespa over the Activa (which she really likes) and your photos have now given me added ammo to make my case.

The "His" Vespa looks more classic and retro than the "hers". Nice collection. Can you tell how was the customization achieved?

Didnt like the spare tyre slot in the older Vespa.

@Rex Rap,Vespa LX 125 does nt anywhere come in dual tone. The customisations that can be done on LX 125 are quite different.Im afraid you have spoilt the looks as well as the originality of the scooter.LX 125 is known for its Italian design and curves. They are gone on your LX 125 !!!! Being a Vespa aficianado for more than 30 years and after owning nearly 10 classic Vespas, honestly Im not impressed with your LX 125's customisation.

Thats a real sweet looking LX125. The dual tone color job suits it completely and the scooter looks more attractive than before.

One suggestion, you should have left the rear mud guard in black itself and not colored it white. IMO, that would have looked better.

After this modification, how about adding the white strip in the wheel side-walls(just like hillram has doen to his yellow LX125)? It would further spruce up the looks of this beauty.

That looks wonderful mate! Congrats on the new buy!! Very tastefully done? What is the original color? Red on white or White on Red?? :)

Now, I'm not an aficionado or whatever, but to my "untrained" eye, this customization rocks! Looking at the new Vespa in the adverts, I was wondering what was "missing". Your custom paint job is what was missing, looks great! I might actually buy one if I can get this sort of paint job done.

Dear Rex,
Congrats on this fantastic new machine.
I completely agree with Ram. Being a vintage lovers, our opinions are usually taken with pinch of salt.
Though we are not aware of what was original color of your LX but wouldn't it made more sense to paint older scooter in the shade of new LX.
Just my two bits.

Raab rakha.

Fantastic make over. Sweet paint job.
Any other customizations on your ride? Some more chrome would help.

One more thing to be noted is that, a paint job of this scale needs the scooter to be completly dismantled.Im sure Vespa India wouldn't have done this, therefore it breaches the Warranty of the vehicle also.Such risks cannot be taken on new vehicles under warranty.

I'M falling in love, hats off for your effort, it is indeed a dream combo any couple can have. Hope the company sees it here take some tips from you. :thumbs up

Congratulations on the two scooters. The customization looks great.
The 1960 Vespa VBA is looking very nice.

Paint job looks good, but I like stock LX125 (red and yellow) better!

The alloys need to be coloured too and put those white strips on the rubber tyres . Gives it a more retro look . IMO
