Sagar you can use tubeless tires with spokes. Off course they come in specially designed alloy rims. But to find a rim of that sort for Indian spec Vehicles is impossible. They are available for your Harley's and other big bore machines.

Thanks for the clarification. I was not aware of such rims available.

This is what I got from the site? Is the price reasonable? Is the tyre a good one?

Mate it's a good quality tire no doubt if your primary usage is within city this might not give you a smooth ride quality. MRF Nylogrip are better for city use. Sirac tires are good for semi urban/outskirts where you experience rough roads.

Apologies if I have not read your requirements.

I am staying in the outskirts of Hyderabad. So, a good 15-20KM would be a highway drive to reach the city. When I say highway, the roads are not that good, potholes are a lot.
Primary usage is to my office, its a mixed of Tar, gravel and cement block roads 5KM to and fro.

Go for it they are pretty good for that sorta terrain. Have them on my RD as well and they do the job pretty well for such roads. Outright speed runs are a bit uncomfortable because of the tread wear.

What about the front tyre? Havent changed them from the day I have bought my bike. But the threads are still good. Its an MRF.

1. If your wheels are alloys and not spoked ones, you can get tubeless tyres.
2. Yes you can
3. Better grip during braking and cornering (if you select the right tyre upsize). The downside with commuter bikes is that it might have a negative effect on the engine and clutch (as experienced by fellow bhpian Gansan on his splendor). You can take a call on this.

Not sure of the other 2 queries so we shall wait for other members to pitch in. :)

Thanks for the info. Kolkata is not a very Bike friendly place so getting good mechanics and advisors is an issue. But as you suggested I will check up with tyre dealers here.
I suppose a 100/90 - 18 should be a direct fit, (also suggested by a fellow TBHPian)

If the tread wear is more than 3 mm you need not replace it. Check for the sidewalls for any damage or blisters, if they are good then absolutely no need to replace them.

I am really not sure how to measure the gaps between the tread. Better will take a snap and post it here for the experts please:

I'm about to buy the Pulsar 200 NS. Heard enough about the TVS Eurogrips:eek: to make tyre upgrade while buying the top priority for me. Please suggest what combo's would be most suitable. Shouldn't be prone to frequent punctures and possess good grip levels. Zapper FY1 for the front? If so, what would go best with it @ the rear?

Please go ahead and replace both the tires :) they are not worth to be ridden anymore in city or highway.
