re: The All New Bajaj Pulsar 200NS Unveiled! Update: Rs 84,096- ex showroom Pune

So now that the Pulsar 200ns has toasted most of the competition, especially the japs; TVS will be expected to give a fitting reply with the updated Apaches.

Already the present generation have many positives including being lightweight, great handling, ABS option and excellent VFM. Hoping the folks at Hosur up the ante big time, no pressure guys!!

The front reminds me of a cockroach. Ready to hop on you.

Otherwise, excellent styling, which also somehow carries over, the lines from its previous generation.

How about the new transmission gearbox? Hopefully it's not going to be as notchy and problematic as the one on the current Pulsars..

re: The All New Bajaj Pulsar 200NS Unveiled! Update: Rs 84,096- ex showroom Pune

a thought just occured to me - it says that the KTM 200 needs 95 octane gas. The 200 ns makes lesser power than the ktm , revs a 1000 rpm lower but it makes ALMOST the same power - with a carb , 3 spark plug and a tumble swirl head. Do you think the extra plugs , lowered compression ( ?) , reduced red line is all to combat the poor quality fuel that you get in India. Is the extra plug a way to reduce knocking ? an indian solution to an indian problem ?

The Front head light cluster and side profile somewhat resembles Yamaha FZ16.

Forgot to add in my previous post: I've seen the slides on the other forum. Question was in spite of that.

Read it in some first drive report that fuel maps for India were redone. It should be able to handle the lower octane fuel that we get here.

Well, just today, the owner of the Service Center where i get my RTR180 serviced said that TVS is gearing up for the launch of 200/220cc bike by March-April 2012. *Rumored* to look radically different to the current gen RTR's. Its a waiting game now!!

It is a KTM derived engine. With this move KTM also gets to ride into the Indian market with their own version of the bike - KTM Duke 200.

Wow..That all you can for this NS. I have always been looking forward to a naked sports bike that fits the budget. This is a perfect blend of style and yet quite practical design.

The biggest addition for me is the MONO SHOCK. Pulsars had a bumpy ride which will be well solved by the mono shock. And anything under 1L is gd pricing.

Now lets wait till the competition gets hotter. Time is coming to change bike!

Are these brackets for the tire huggers? I hope the bike still look good with the saree guard, tire hugger and the rear view mirrors.

All I can say now is WOW! This is definitely a step in the right direction for Bajaj and a perfect evolution of the popular Pulsar series. I am glad that early test reports are indicating that the Pulsar is no more unbalanced and scary in corners and under sudden direction changes. Just like they did when they first launched the bike in 2001, Bajaj is making us all proud by fielding an all-Indian entry against the mighty Japanese and winning it too. With the existing Pulsar series already making Bajaj the undisputed market leader in 150cc and above segments, the new Pulsar will only help Bajaj reach even greater heights.

re: The All New Bajaj Pulsar 200NS Unveiled! Update: Rs 84,096- ex showroom Pune

I own a first generation pulsar 180cc which still runs flawlessly. Infact, at the time that the pulsar was launched, it shook up the market place like nobody's business.
What we see today, the apaches, the zmas, the yamaha's are a result of that single move by Bajaj.
This bike by Bajaj will again raise the bar for indian made motorcycles. Bajaj has always believed in setting the cat amidst the pigeons and I'm sure, this is going to be a good couple of years of motorcycle fans.

A looker of a bike no doubt. With so many years of bike making, I am sure Bajaj would get rid of the teething issues of initial batches. Time will tell.

What I don't understand is why did they not try to retain the Projector setup. That's a major usp of current P220s. Otherwise the bike should be a winner if priced correctly.

I still think its all a bit too gimmicky. Bajaj should have used a link type mono suspension at the rear but I guess they are saving it for the next upgrade along with FI.
