Nice! So the bike gave more than what you got on our Tamhini-Bhor ride (how much did you get then?). Any idea how much the Dukes and 200NS's got in Leh recently (doing some arithmetic fuel planning )?

I just needed fuel for the zanskar stretch coz there wasn't any fuel pump for 500 kms . the bikes range was somewhere around 450.
That's a decent tank range. How did you carry the fuel (any photos)?

Thanks. I didnt have to carry gas except for the Zanskar stretch. There are only two sections where you wud need to carry fuel , 1st is if u wish to go to zanskar valley , 2nd if u wish to do pangong tso-hanle-tso moriri stretch.
How many kms without fuel for the pangong tso-hanle-tso moriri circuit?

Let's get together once Nav is back!

No idea about 200NS/Duke .I did spot 4-5 dukes in the area but didnt get a chance to talk to them. two 200 NS are in Leh right now but they failed to climb Chang La they are getting the carb mod job done today

We had to carry 7-8 ltrs fuel in our back packs

The tso-moriri circuit is around 600 kms .

Hi,

Could you give more details about the mod done above ? Might be helpful for most considering the cost of fuel is Rs 75 plus.

Actually it works everywhere. I have seen too many gaon walla Bulleteers who want the shaan of riding a Bult but not the running cost - so they go the wire route, or run Hero Honda jets, or many even the Hero Honda carbs on their 350s. Come to Hadapsar side - you will see many such Hero Honda carbed "Bullets". Sad but true.

How much should a good conditioned engine cost?? ZMA is better or ZMR?? What about engine mountings, are they at same place in both engines??
I would rather go the big bore way, just to retain the engine number. Engines only makes a 225cc big bore kit for the 06-12 CRF150F and BBR makes a 195cc kit. Both cost $600. Coupled with some stiffer clutch springs, aftermarket pipe and rejetting, you end up making more power than the stock Karizma engine. Ofcourse it ends up being more costly but at least you know that all the engine internals are new.

The dyno chart for the 225cc big bore kit courtesy ENGINES ONLY PARTS FOR CRF 150

Re: Hero Impulse

Impulse will be a fantastic option for many enthusiasts with a "ZMA/ZMR" engine! HM can easily take a large share of Pulsar/Duke/Honda 's market!

also with a powerful engine with bit more comfortable seating, it will be a perfect tourer!

Will Hero do this sensible move?

Re: Hero Impulse

Anyone has any information whether Impulse will come with a Karizma engine. If yes, what would be the potential price?
