Yes Gansan. The liquid cooling on these bikes is very similar to the ones in cars. In slow moving traffic, when the bikes heat up and there is no air flowing into the radiator, the fans kick in. One of the reasons why the ignition switch should be in OFF position when the engine is not running (fans running while engine is off consumes a lot of battery and will cause issues while starting the bike since the battery drains pretty fast).

Yes; the ON/OFF is done by ECM

Absolutely nothing; the temp bar never goes beyond 3 bars at any point in time no matter how hard your ride (mine done 1396 Km on a single stretch, non stop) & several times in the city on stop & go ride.

If you happen to switch off the motorcycle in traffic, you can leave the ignition key ON, but remember to keep the engine kill switch in OFF position that way the fan will not run.

Had ridden through some of extremely hot weather in RJ, OR & AP (must be close to 47 or so not sure, but for sure, the heat was melting my bones :D)

Through the 5890 Km the temp bar stayed ONLY at 3 & never went anything beyond. It was quite surprising & I was really amazed at the performance.

clap: I am pretty sure your confidence in the bike and Honda's reliability is restored after such amazing trips. Maybe time to edit the title of the thread? Humble request for a travelogue especially on the trip done on the golden quadrilateral. 6000kms in less than 6 days? Are you kidding us? That is awesome!!!!

Yes, the confidence in the bike has grown immense; yes, have to edit the title, will leave the responsibility to the moderators to change the title appropriately.

Personally, I believe anyone with average biking skills & determination can easily complete as this is no big task. Thank you very much for your kind words.

I'm highly indebted & would pass on the credit to H.V.Kumar sir for his advice & suggestion through out the trip, without which I'm very sure this trip would've not been successful or may not even be possible in the first place.

Completed ONE year of my ownership with CBR 250R today evening around 5:30 PM. Many nice & not so nice memories out of 28770 Km.

No other vehicle has taken me...
so far as 80 Km to Pakistan & 80 Km to Srilanka;
so wide as to cover all 4 metro cities in the country;
to the only desert & to the strait of India;
through some forests, mountains, hills;
to some of dry & beautiful national highways & state highways;
to some of roadless roads;
through rains, scorching heat on all 4 seasons;
covering 14 states & 1 union territory;

yet, there's lot more to discover to the unknown

Thank you everyone; I believe there's nothing great as anyone with average riding skills & determination can accomplish GQ. The route was same as what I posted above just that Pune-Mumbai & Vadodara-Ahmedabad express highway were not taken because some blokes thought motorcycles wouldn't get past 100 Kmph :D

Aargee, Bro - Great Stuff and Deep Respect. I have got a couple of questions

- How often do you take breaks when riding such a long distance?
- Whats the average riding time in a day.

Once again, Congrats and yes you are being extremely humble by putting this so lightly.

I had done some my share of long distance touring during pre marriage days on P180/ and TBird and normally after 800 KM or so , my derriere is so sore i cant even Squat to save my life.

If you could compile a simple travelogue, that would make a very interesting read. I know that you detest writing elaborate travelogues, but just small things would do.(Starting point, Breaks, Food Stops, Stay etc :) )

Personally...when I ride alone, I take breaks only for fuel :D I once did Mumbai to Chennai around 18 hours with 3 breaks

Nothing less than 13-14 hours everyday for sure

Not to offend anyone, I find few people enjoy to discourage what other consider as their achievement of life; personally this is an achievement in my life & I'm certainly not looking forward someone criticizing it. Forget criticizing, they advice to others as if they adhere to 40 Kmph in city & 80 kmph on highways. I personally don't like that double standards.

Breaks only for Fuel?! How do you replenish, sugar/salt and water in the body? Camelback? ;)
