The R15 can not make over 17hp in stock form from factory. The new bike is only a cosmetic upgrade.
Coming to the comparo with a daytona package.
0-100kph - daytona kit - around 12 secs
0-100kph - Race concepts street kit ~ 8.2 secs
stock cbr 250 - 10 secs
So lets not even compare.
@sam - we are not there anymore. We've moved out to a bigger place away from the city.

Oh Joel thats bad news. Anyways that sums up my decision of selling my P220. I was all set to go onsite and was confused whether or not to sell. Anyways as a biker, always will return with another monster some day.
Thanks for all your inputs.
Latest spy pics by the same guy Vaibhav. Its tagged 2012 r15. I have a feeling this guy is from the yamaha marketing team and frankly it is getting irritating, these supposedly candid shots.
Yamaha, come out with an official press release and be done with it. Those who like yamaha will wait for it rather than go for some other manufactirer.

The tyre hugger looks pathetic to say the least, the silencer looks like free flow exhaust and the tail-lamp looks very weird from the back but stunning from side-on. They made a mess of the rear!
The tyre hugger ain't so bad, taillights dont look so hot though.
I can't say I really care about the looks, what I'm eagerly waiting for are the performance specs.
Come on Yamaha, release some tech details!
I happened to visit the Yamaha showroom yesterday to inquire about R15, as I am contemplating a second bike. While discussing, I asked them if they had any information on the new R15. His response was that the new bike which is coming out is actually R125 and not R15. He did mention broader rear tire, high tail, etc. He also said that the bike is on the same platform as of R15 and will compete with Stunner.
This was news to me as I had not heard of this earlier. Has anyone else heard this?

The rear looks hideous to say the least, I hope it still looks good overall.
Also should be good if its a different bike than the R15.
The rear looks ugly liked the swing when is it going to be launched would like to get only the swing arm for my old R15
i think one can remove the round rear portion (may to cut it off ) of the tyre hugger and saree guard together !!:) when they are going to launch it finally? this is become a new marketing toll of the companies to release such spy pics and create a hype ??:Frustrati
Another spy pic of Yamaha R15 refresh. Picture courtesy - Bikeadvice.in
thx bluevolt, looks really stunning, tyre hugger looks ok in this pic/profile, winner strikes back i must say. if this package comes with added power then it will be another history in the making, i feel
it looks great in that last pic. must say its getting a very attractive proposition, if the rumors (?) are true regarding the power output.
if the price is lower than the CBR250R this will be a great competitor.

This makes a lot of sense, as I don't think they would implement such drastic changes like the wider rear tyre, especially considering the thin 'leech' tyre works so well.
Also none of the pictures show the R15 logo.
This is most likely the European R125 we're getting.

Hmmm not sure. He could be telling me all this to stop looking forward for the new model and buy the current one. However, this is what he told me.
:thumbs up

I see just 2 digits after R (though hazy) in the picture. May be a R15 still...
Also, the side profile of the front half (headlamps) still look like R15 and not R125.
And as fieroid (Joel) said, it might be as well impossible to extract 22 BHP from stock settings. (I trust his words :) ) - Anything done to boost the power output when revvs are below 4K is welcome. Below 4K one might even fall asleep atop R15 :D
I expect some cosmetic changes (split seats, slightly wider tire, hugger, LED rear lamps) and a if Gods are kind, a mild boost of 1 BHP from the engine. (If God is even kinder, you'll get that boost in lower revvs than higher ones :uncontrol )
