Re: Want to be a Track Marshall at the Indian F1 GP? EDIT: Now closed.

Seems like there will be only 230 Indian marshals and 110 Bahraini ones.

Bahraini marshals to work at Indian GP
The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) has revealed that, for the country’s maiden Formula 1 Grand Prix this October, some 110 Bahraini race marshals will be recruited in order to sustain that the event runs smoothly.

On the 20-race calendar of 2011, India and the Greater Noida-based venue falls into the crucial final trio of events, sandwiched between Korea and Abu Dhabi.

“We've reached an agreement with the Bahrain Motor Federation and 110 experienced marshals will be on duty during the Indian GP,” FMSCI President Vicky Chandhok, father of ex Hispania racer Karun, explained to the Hindustan Times.

“In addition to that, we will have 230 marshals from India to shadow the Bahraini officials.”

Re: Want to be a Track Marshall at the Indian F1 GP? EDIT: Now closed.

Just received an Email from IMMC

Quote:
Dear Motorsport Enthusiast,

Greetings from Indian Motorsport Marshals Club !

We know you are really fired up to be part of the first-ever Indian Grand Prix at the Jaypee International Circuit, greater Noida, on the 30th October 2011. While thanking you for registering with us for the Formula 1 Marshals Training Program, we would like to update you on our activities.

First, the 'Training the Trainer' programs by MSA-UK and BARC at Chennai and Delhi were well attended and a huge success. Our lead trainers are getting ready to train future marshals like you very soon by sharing their experience and knowledge they have acquired.

Next, the construction and track preparation work at Jaypee International Race Circuit, Greater Noida, Delhi, is progressing very satisfactorily and as per confirmed timelines.

IMMC itself is in the process of preparing materials and aids for your training programs and finalizing dates and venues for the proposed regional training centres. An F1 race has many facets of marshalling. Very shortly, we will send out another email to you containing an online form that you need to fill in to indicate your preference of department to work in.

Please note that there is no need to reply to this email.

Thank you once again for being part of IMMC.

Yours in Motorsport,
--------------------
Team IMMC
Anyone else got this email? Does this mail mean, I am IN?

MaSh

I got an email from IMMC that the TTT (Train The Trainer) has been completed and that they are compiling the materials/schedules and aids for MY training.

I guess this means I am one of the 230?

Received the same mail a little before. So that means, the Indian F1 preparations are progressing on schedule and we all can very well expect that to happen on the mentioned dates.

Re: Want to be a Track Marshall at the Indian F1 GP? EDIT: Now closed.

I received a SMS which asked me to check my registered email account for an update from IMMC about IndianF1 Marshal Program that I had applied for.
So with great enthusiasm, I checked my inbox and as many others have already updated, I also received the same email.
Now eagerly waiting for the next email from them IMMC. Does anyone have any idea about various departments where Marshalls work?
