There are two delvacs(diesel oil from Mobil) sold here.
One is the Mobil Delvac 1300 and the other is Mobil Delvac MX.
Both are mineral based.
Buttt, the Mobil Delvac MX is quite superior to the 1300.
So, get the Mobil delvac MX 15W40 for your indica turbo.

A 5 litre can of MX should cost Rs.945 .
I checked when I picked up a 7.5 litre can for my Safari 2.2 Dicor.

correct. I'm yet to see a can of this, though.
Mobil is obviously selling the "one size fits all" Mobil 1 for diesels too.
Went to their Chennai distributor to pick up my MX can and noticed some "Pen drive" offers for the retailers and garages.

oil change on my santro

My Santro recently completed 10K KM and is due for service in the first week of September, I'm planning to get it converted to synthetic oil and was looking @ Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40.

Could anybody let me know how's the performance, has anybody used it on this forum, also if yes where it is available in Bangalore. I have checked a few Shell stations, (2 on mysore road) was unable to find them there.

Thanks in advance.

Mods, please move the thread if incase it is not posted in the correct subgroups.

Thanks,
Rajiv

Its strange that Shell bunks donot stock their engine oils. I was about to go and buy one last weekend.
I was trying to get Shell since I am doubtful if trying to buy Castrol or Mobil1 could end up in me buying a duplicate.

I believe that VS MAX is a brand of Pennzoil, which FIAT recommends for the Palio.

Do you still need to add fuel additves like system D if you are using Mobil Delvac 1 or similar engine oils? This may be kinda stupid question, but I don't have much funda about engine oils.

I don't think that engine oil and fuel additives are connected.

I use Mobil mineral engine oil and System D with normal diesel

No Need if your car is new and you got enough power from it. If you are having a old car like mine (TCIC Safari), it make wonders.

The Mobil India site provides no distributor/dealer info. Every other guy i have asked locally does not have MX. they only have the Super 1300.

Mobil1 dealer in bombay / mumbai

- minesh adani - 98200 58599 (these guys have godown at wadala)

Mobil Marketing in India 0091-22-404-2255 ext.356 (direct company)

Try them,if they dont have MX,which is very unlikely, tell them to get it for you.
