I hope its not the motorcycle oil you're using.
Not using it. Saw it at the after sales service.

@PJ: '505.00' is the VW oil standard for diesel engines.
The same oil should also have the '502.00'(the VW standard for gasoline engines).
Check it out.

Please do not use 0W40 in chennai temperatures.
Severe oil loss. Have experienced this in many cars. Oil level drops down and soon there will be oil pressure problems.
For some reason, Mobil1 markets the 'engine oil for coldest sub zero weathers' in tropical India.

I quote from the printed literature that I have.
'VW standard 502.00 for gasoline engines with enhanced performance'.
So, I would suggest trying to source a 5Wxx synthetic that carries VW 502.00 for your 230bhp RS.

Hi all. Howdy?

I was wondering how the use of synthetic oil affects the re-sale value of a car? Any benefits or it takes a plunge?
I got my NHC serviced for 50K yesterday and the thought of switching over to synthetic did occur. The 2 reasons why I held myself back was
1. Re-sale.
2. Any review of the synthetic oil which Honda authorised service station use?

Cheers!

have changed to Mobil 1 on both cars. Initially I found no difference, now after about 2-3k kms driving, finding both engines incredibly quiet and smooth, at idle and under acceleration. Plan to change every 10k kms. Could I change at 15 k instead? What if i only change the filters after 10 k kms?

Magnatec is Semi Synthetic- Castrol Edge is Synthetic.

Had to order it from Swar, Mapusa. Cost almost 1000/- per litre , can't remember exact price since it was purchased beginning March but used end-April. Highly recommend it.
Great meeting you too, and the game (Port-Germany) was rivetting wasn't it?

Just got the XETA Serviced, 3rd Oil change with Magnatec....I'm lovin It!!!

With my lancer I did the first Oil flush at 50 K mark, resulting in the Main Clutch seal failure.

So with my XETA, every oil change is done with a Can of STP Flush, cleaning the system inside.
