It is not necessary to remove the carpet for this sort of aftermarket fitting. This is the way it is done for this sort of fitment. But it differs from place to place on how cleanly and neatly they do it. They will keep cloth, cushioning at respective times and have neatly cleaned interiors: carpet, ceiling, and seats pretty well at the end of the day. Quote:

The stock aircon with rear row vents is a different fitment altogether. It comes with additional compressor, condensor fitment housed at rear side and the vents are diverted to rooftop in a different manner from rear (although I would not be able to recount exactly). Additionally it involves replacement of the entire ceiling to get the factory fitted vents that are enclosed in the ceiling. That is why the cost would be much higher. Also assuming that this would be a assuredly genuine Toyota kit made available and not a aftermarket kit available. Quote:

That great.
If you want to get the stock factory-fitted fit and finish, stock a/c option is the best but at a very high cost.
But if you weigh the cost & good effective ac refrofit against this and okay with this retrofit outlook then this retrofit option is pretty good. Quote:

The retrofit is not only for the middle row, it functions for both the 2nd and 3rd rows. This retrofit has 4 large vents (more than double the size of the stock vents for rear rows - not to mean that thats why they are more effective, but just to highlight the fitment). You can choose to divert a set of 2 vents to each row and get good cooling in both the 2nd and 3rd rows. We rarely need to go beyond Med level of the retrofit aircon. |
