you can do it, if you can locate the relay and look at it and read it. the value on it must be more than the sum of the lo-beam and hi-beam put together. that's it.

for 100/130 W the relay must have an ability to run a system more than 100+130=230W off its switching system.

we are taking the sum of the lo and the hi because, the maximum current will pass through when you have your lo-beam on and then flash the high beam. at this point both the lo and hi beam filaments are ON

some relays may have an ampere rating written on it along with the Watts. so 230/12=~19 amps (current=watts/volts). so see if your relay is rated more than the current rating of 19 amps.

hey guys i've got philips crystal vision white lights on my Swift..
Was thinking of changing over the headlight assembly and upgrading to xenons..
will come upto 11k + 16k.. i think 16 for the xenons are too much..

any other change i could go in for with night-drive brightness??..
(yeah.. got a medium tint on my wiondshield too..)

If brighter light is all you want remove the tints and go for higher wattage and save a packet in the process.

I had a look under the hood today and found the relay, it appears to be of PMP brand, a picture is below.

I looked on top, bottom, right and left, couldn't find anything hot stamped or printed information relating to its switching capacity. So I unmounted it from its location and looked behind, but still nothing. A picture of the behind is below.

Does this mean there are no chances that this relay will support 130/100 bulbs?

I am exoecting a cedia delivery next week. The fog lights are to be fitted. Can i fit xenons? If what yes, then which are the good ones?

Hi, My query was to research if the PMP relay can handle 100/130, so I looked around this thread and found the below quote.

Do not use 130/100 blindly. Most relays in the market can handle upto 100/90.
for 130/110W bulbs get a relay and wiring which says "300W or 260W" etc.,
The relay in my car(Roots relay) is for 130/110W, and the ceramic holders are also rated for high power.
I use 100/90W, and am satisfied with it.

I don't intend to do it blindly! The Ikon's headlights are not good enough! Even though I have 90/100, it doesn't satisfy me! The car goes frequently in the night on the highway! I have no chance but to upgrade to 100/130!

Any idea about the possibility to change the holdersby DIY?

130/110W may marginally increase the output, and in some cases may even lower it(reflector heat damage).
Get your headlights aimed. which brand 100/90 are you using. If its philips, are they original?

Getting the headlights aimed is a pain! Ford never does it properly! Ford always adjusts it when the car is empty and when there is a load in the rear, it goes to the skies. I did not have the T-20 star screw driver, so I went to a mechanic and he adjusted it using a normal Philips screwdriver (flat head), and focussed it down.. Now the teeth of the adjustment screw has worn out completely. No other way to adjust the headlights.

Ford is so stupid to admit they can't change the headlight including the wiring to support electric beam adjustment.

And yes, the Philips Rallye 90/100 is original. More than a year and a half has elapsed since I upgraded.

I'm looking to upgrade the stock fog lamps on my Honda Civic as they are absolutely pathetic on the highways. It just does not give me the confidence to go above 60-80 KM/hr.

Has anyone on the forum upgraded their lamps to 90/100W or so without facing issues? If yes, what bulbs should I go for?
