Would you like to share the cost (per pair) and how did you procure the same.

Yes, Fog lamps are H8.

Do you have any idea how to adjust them in proper alignment? The fog's on my Swift point outwards i.e towards the divider rather than the road ahead.

I believe fog lamps are supposed to cover a wider area than head lamps hence the illumination of dividers. I illuminates the area ahead of you too.

I know that buddy but what I meant was the whole beam / spread that the fog lights emit is angled outwards. It doesn't fall on the road ahead but wholly on the divider which I find no use anyway.

I tried asking MASS to get that right in centre, though they have tried their bit I just want to know if it can be a DIY?!

I paid Rs.1800 for a pair of Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited at Kolkata. The MRP marked was Rs.2000. Units made in Germany, imported by Osram India in April 2014.

SST, thanks for the information.
Just now was going through your Scorpio thread and read there that you purchased these bulbs from Lenin Sarani.

I had the NB's in my car too (headlights and fog's) but they burn up pretty quickly. Two bulbs fused in less than 6 months.

Switched to Philips Xtreme Vision which has longer life and is not as white as the NB's, making it easier to drive in the wet.

The fog's are designed to illuminate the corners more than the road in front. This is to give the driver visibility of medians and pedestrians.

Arrey baba, you are mistaking me here Sir.

The fog lamp in my Swift is misaligned. The left side one throws light straight ahead but the right side one throws light towards the right totally. It is driving with right eye closed as it can see only the sides and not the front whereas the left eye can see in the front.

Hope you get what I want to convey.

Check the voltage output of the alternator, and loose contact in the bulb connector. 6 months is too short.

Philips Xtreme or Osram Nightbreaker series bulbs typically last 10-14 months of heavy use, after which the low beam filaments go. H8s last longer because they're used a lot less.

Sir, a noob doubt - as you say 6 months is low, then how is it that Philips Xtreme Vision is sustaining more with the same usage that the Osram NB+ went through?

No issues to the stock bulbs also. Why is it that the Osram so sensitive as compared to competition?!

Thanks.

Yes, and the NB+ and NBU run hotter so have a colder light, not ideal for a fog!

So, I just went through some of the reviews, and have decided to go for Philips Xtreme Vision as they provide a little better brightness than the OSRAM.

Can anyone direct me to a reliable seller where in I can get genuine 90/100 Philips Xtreme Vision H4 for my Dzire ? please:

I will repeat the advice that one of the mods here gave me when I was looking for sellers. Do some research for prices online and in local stores.
For local stores,go to reputed shops that sell spares. Accessories shops may give you an older bulb.

I got mine from a local shop. Got a pair of 60/55 H4 Xtremevision for my brio for 1300 rs with fitting.
