Again, I have not seen a car in decades which didn't have enough light from the reversing lamps (even if only one) to show up a wall, or a child, or whatever.

Maybe its because its Suzuki, or maybe this is one of this small things they cut for the Indian market to get the price down.

If you've got sensors, and you use them, I'm not saying that makes you a bad driver! I've been in a big Audi with sensors all round! but I wouldn't pay to add them to a small hatchback.

I need reversing light!!!! Anyone?

Its a common practise these days, and not just Suzuki. New Indica/Logan/NHC etc also comes like that, if i remember correctly.

Rear fog lamps would help, won't they?

imo - theyre not meant to provide illumination.

I'm pretty sure they are meant to provide illumination. If it was just to warn pedestrians about a reversing car, I'm sure it would have been a tiny bulb in some obscure location and not two bulbs.

But the Swift's rear illumination is quite inadequate. It because the tail light cover is red throughout, unlike white reflector as in case of most other cars.I had the opportunity to reverse a NHC the other day, and I must say the lighting was miles ahead of that in the Swift.

If they are only bulbs, I'm sure there would be a more powerful bulb available somewhere.

anyone got a clue as to what headlamps the honda city run on? wanted to get a HID conversion kit. am aware of the fact that it runs a stock halogen H4 hi/low. but if i were to get the hid kit which one would i need? i have come across H4-2, H4-3 and H4(9003)... am considerin gettin a 8000k (blue) hid kit

buy a bi-xenon h4 kit. 6000k is the brightest. actually 4300k is but its a bit yellowish.

Yes, I am convinced now after I converted to 100/90W Philips Rally. Awesome beam and spread. But I have to play around with the headlamp levelling device a little to get the right focus.

But a little advice to those who want to convert to 100/90W - Mind you, these bulbs are really powerful for you and also for the oncoming traffic. Please do not use the bulbs for aggressive and offensive night driving. Rather use high beams as a defensive technic.

hi Ajo
Thanks for the write up after upgrade. I wish to install 100/90W Philips Rally in my matiz (clear head lamps). I already have a relay installed due to burning of the dipper switch - not too sure if he installed it properly. Rest everything is stock.

1. Do I need ceramic holders or would these upgraded lamps fit in the same stock holders and not melt them?

2. Any extra wiring required?

3. How much did you get the lamps for? And would the make of relay matter? I don't know what brand its (will check) but It costed me Rs 250 from Sec 48, Chandigarh car market.

4. How much improvement in the throw and intensity? I too am pissed off at the amount of assumption I need to bring while driving at night at highways with oncoming traffic blinding me completely. I need it purely for highway/hilly driving to avoid poth holes etc. as I already had two tyre bursts due to bending of rims.

Sorry, am back again. don't have an option edit anymore.

I posted the above thread before I could get to the thread where you philips 100/90W blew. whar are you using now?
I have read good reviews abt Osram Silverstar 55/60W as well? how are they as compared to philips vision+ 100/90W?

I really need a set of good lamps. I always drive with low beam in city, need it especially for rains in hilly areas. kindly suggest. thanks

Hi guys,
Got new fog lamps fitted at Banai Auto Works - TASC. At the outset I would like to state that the service given at Banai is very pleasant and customer friendly. The service advisors go that extra mile to see the smile on the customer's face. I was attended to by Mr.Sandip Patil (no not the cricketer :) ).
Got the fog lamps fitted as was told that I would need them on the ghats on my trip to Jog falls and Mangalore which I plan to go on the 15aug07.
The cost was
2 fog lamps Rs.2404.84 (incl 12.50% vat)
Fog lamp unit controller Rs. 397.66 (incl 12.50% vat)
4screws Rs. 13.50 (incl 12.50% vat)
Labour Rs. 200.00
TOTAL Rs.2816.00

I too have a Santro and want to upgrade the lights to the Philips 100/90 with the PMP relay (fibre casing). Do you know where I can get this done in Bangalore or where I can buy the parts.

You are welcome :). Glad to be of help. But the price is a little too high, vision plus retails around 400 a pair in the market. I have seen that unlike the US, indian ebay prices are very very high.

I know the price is high.
But I did not want to take the trouble of searching for bulb and the chance of getting fake is less from eBay.
I drive 90% on city and the performance of the bulb is very good. Thanks again.

Are these 100/90? White lights ones?
