What is so special about these Ceramic holders ? Are they more resistant to heat when compared to the normal holders ?

Is there any other pros associated with them ?

For Opel corsa is 55/60W H4 halogen bul most probably from Philips or Osram.

Are you sure 130/100 do not blacken the clear lens headlamp.Actually i'm on 100/90 Philips after trying out all these vision series from Philips.Basically they are all 60/55w and are far less performance wise IHMO.

If you have Philips Rally 100/90W then no need to go for 130/100W.

Upgraded my Roots 100/90W H4 headlights.
The roots one had real bad throw and light quality was not good.
So decided to upgrade. Wanted a whiter light too.
At the shop I checked out three options.
1. Bluevision 100/90
nice white light with good coverage. The throw was unimpressive, good on the wide front but low range.
2. Hella 100/90
Golden light, standard, very bright brilliant light, but not white. This is a good option if you dont want white light
3. Narva 100/90
simple amazing. Almost as good as the hella and much better than bluevision.
The light is long throw and really reflects nicely of road marking. Great for city driving, but with the long throw I think its going to be even better for highways.

So the indica runs Narva now. 4500K
Cost 600rs for the pair.
Got bluevision pilot lamps too for 150rs a pair(too expensive) in original philips packing.

The guy had diamond vision too, but only in 60/55W

2 Questions:
1. when you meant "throw of light", does this mean how far the light goes?... I mean, how far can you see the road?...
2. Pilot lamps...is this same as parking lights?... or the lights that come down below?....along the bumper.... (i think its also called fog lights...)

They have much better throw than the roots ones
Parking lights. Normal ones are yellow. So now the parking lights are same color as the headlamps

On a sidenote, these are not the best ones around. They are among the best if you want cool white light. If you are looking for pure intensity of illumination, Osram Silverstar are supposed to be the best, but I dont know wether they are available in India. On a clear lens headlight Osram Silverstar 60/55W will be good enough for highway driving too.

I had the Osram's on my car for a while Tanveer but they kept blowing for some reason. Great light, throw & very white too. But they were very hard to source & can't find anymore. Then as an alternate switched to Crystalvision but have been quite unimpressed with its performance especially on the highways.

Were they Silverstars?
130/100W bulbs and some Xenon filled 100/90W will blow if you use high and low beam together(by pulling the stalk towards you when on low beam).
The reason is heat.
Xenon in halogen bulbs means higher heat inside the bulb, which results in better light as hotter fillaments glow whiter and brighter.
a 100/90 or 60/55W silverstar should not be a problem.
In philips bluevision give great light, but if you are just looking for light output Vision + is a great option. Have a 60/55W Vision+ on getz and that gives great light, not really white but intensity is more than the stock phillips.

Going OT, which car ? I am not aware of any modern day car which allows both filament to glow simultaneously. The older Omnis & M800s did that though. So do let know which car.

Coming back to topic, IIRC the Xenon bulbs run on lower wattage & actually run cooler so this should not happen. Correct me if I am wrong

I am not talking about Xenon HIDs.
I am taking about regular halogen bulbs. The halogen gas used can be Xenon too, as it is in some bulbs.
Talking about high low together, the indica allows that.

Yes they were Silverstars & I think you're right they probably blew because of me sometimes using the Low & High beams together on the highway, you can do it in the OHC also.

Now I am using the Crystalvisions but am not really satisfied. Will try the Vision+ next time around since main criteria for me is throw & intensity whihch is necessary on the highways I drive on.

On our next meet you can try out the Narva's(I think OHC is H4) and if you like them you can get a pair. Lalbagh market should be cheaper than the 600rs noida rate I got.
Incidentally Narva is owned by Phillips.

Hi,
I bought philips blue vision 100/90 today
along with PMP kit and roots relay.
The stockist said that this is all that is required for changing to
new bulbs( PMP kit & roots relay).
My question is - Is this all or do I have to install /replace any other
fitment as well.
