Hello Abhi,

Better to go for Ceramic holders (if you drive at night for long) and Bosh relays (If they are genuine)

I've sold my zen last april.
However I was using 130/100 for 4+ years and are absolutely safe as Zen has metal reflector and glass.

Here is my post that would give you an idea about my query-
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...ml#post2151569

I am concerned about the reflectors burning.

Also, what about the relay?

1. Should I use one 300W Bosch Relay
2. Or should I use two 200W relays for each of the headlights in my Zen?

Should I upgrade the wiring and ceramic holders?
I presently use the wiring that I got with my 200W HI-LEK Relay.

This was my conversation with fellow Team-BHPian yzfrj.
After reading this, I feel it's OK to get this mod done.

Yes, some find this safe to use. But have seen many cases where people have actually complained on 130/100w bulbs. If you use genuine brand I think you can go ahead with it since 'yzfrj' had mentioned to use genuine stuff.

If you have considerable amount of budget, you can try HID's but it's got it's limitations on stock headlights
@Sajjt - How about you shed your ideas on the tech specs................
................ Auto Gauge HID's are now almost 9k since they increased the customs duty. Got this updated last week.

Naveen, can you elaborate this? Am

I found 130/100w bulb fuses more often for some reason, in comparison with 100/90. Both Philips in my experience.

I wish if there was a 100/65 kind of rated bulb. Would have been useful.

What about the relays and wiring?

1. Should I use One Bosch 300W Headlight Relay for 130/100 bulbs or should I use two 200W Headlight Relay individually for left and right Headlight Bulb?
2. Would the present wiring and ceramic holder that was being used for 100/90 bulbs work fine?

Sajjt, 'Abhipuru16' got some queries

As far as I could make out, other than the bulbs, I need-
Bosch Relay- What specs?
Heavy Gauge wiring- What gauge?
Two Roots Ceramic Holders

Can you shed some light here?

A 300W relay for both will be fine. Between, are the Bosch relays rated in Watts or in Amps. Just curious since I've seen more relay ratings in Amps. May be my ignorance. :) Regarding the wiring, please check the Amps rating of the wire. It should be more than 130/12 = 10.833 Amps. So in practical it should be able to carry around 12 A safely (for one headlamp). :thumbs up

Hey dinu, excellent pics. Now how about some pics with the lights switched ON showing the low and high beams?

Here you go, 1st on low beam (HID projector) and 2nd including high beam (halogen)

Looks good mate. Is highbeam is more towards yellow compared to low ? but i still can see low beam is pretty powerful there and well controlled.

Excellent pics there. I should say that the output is really good. Good work. clap:

I would suggest 1 Sq MM (17 AWG) for 100-130W. Theoritically it will take 8.33A and10.83A respectively so 0.75 Sq MM (18 AWG) will be OK for 100W, but to be realistic, we should consider few more amps so 1 Sq MM will be the best choice as it can handle more than 15A.

Good going dude:thumbs up

You've got the right projectors. RHD type, its lighting up the left kerb nicely without annoying the on coming traffic, most of the after market projectors are LHD so the the beam pattern will be _/ _/ including mine:Frustrati.

I appreciate your reply sajit.
Another query with regards to relays.

1. Should I use two 200W individually for left and right H4 headlights of my 2000 Zen?
Or

2. Should I use one Bosch 300W relay for both the headlights and use the wiring that comes with the Bosch relay.

3. Can't I use the present wiring that had come with HI-LEK 200W relay and that had been used with 100/90W?

4. Also, what all models does Philips offer in 130/100W apart from Rally (which is presumably the best)?

Yes, the high beam is normal halogen, and the low beam is a 6000K HID which is on the whiter side. I did not want to change the High beam considering the need for good illumination especially during rains.

I got it from bangkok, so I guess its a RHD, but if you have read my earlier posts, I had to really go through lot of pain trying to get it focussed professionally.

Just changed my Chevy Spark headlights to Philips Bluevision 100/90 with the Roots kit. Must say, the throw is pretty impressive. Driving on the Goa highway post dusk was pretty good.
