Increase your budget till 9-10k and get a Philips 4300k HID kit. Makes sense. For the time being, you can upgrade to 100/90w bulbs with a relay.

Hi, Is any one using HID in Swift with original reflectors? As per my findings, it works well with projector type reflectors. But when I met AK Traders (Dealer) he suggested to go for HID once for all, since I've been triying, +80%, 90/100 diff bulbs etc:)

Thanks for the prompt response. I think it is H1 55W, will confirm again from Maruti. I do appreciate, that there would need to be a relay, I have one on my Swift as well (90/100W) there is no problem so far.

Just wanted to be sure as projectors are a different ball game.

100% yes!

Roots relay + wiring and Philips Rally 100/90 bulbs is the most cost effective upgrade!

Totally agree. In fact 130/100 do not cost much above 100/90. However, check with your mechanic if it may tend to burn your headlight assemble. I know of many persons who are successfully using it without any trouble though!

Yes. All 12 volt bulbs, be it H1, H3, H4 or H7, needs the same amount of power. It doesn't matter if the bulb is 100W or 130W.

So the relay will also be 12V. But you can insist on heavy duty finolex wires. Roots relay is one of the best. It supports all four of my Hella projectors! They have 4 Phillips 100W H3 bulbs. I used them continuously for 9 hours yesterday!!! No problems whatsoever!

Hello Guys,

I am planning to put White LED Strip on my Alto Headlights. The Cost of Laminated Water Proof Strip is 400 Rs. per Meter.

I had some Queries and hope to get them answered :

1) My Current Headlight Setup is the Stock 60/55W. I am planning to upgrade to 100/90.
Will these LED's melt or fuse if installed in a 100/90 Setup. Should i stick with 60/55W?

2) Is it possible to fit the LED Strip inside the Headlight Assembly. I mean inside the Headlight Glass Cover. Will that cause any Harm like melting due to high Power?
I do not want to stick them externally.

3) Do i need anything else to fit the LED's apart from the LED Strip like Wires, Capacitors, etc.

4) Is it legal to fit these? I do not want to pay regular Fines to Policewala's for this.

I would like to know if I could replace my OE fitted bulbs in my Scorpio. I hear HIDs are the best, But I am concerned about the vehicles approaching from opposite side. I do not want to blind them and collide.
Is my worry making sense or any way I can just settle with simple bulb up-gradation?
The light what I get isn't enough - even with the fog lamps within the city.

Recommend me the right bulbs or HIDs. Thank you.

Higher the wattage, more the power. Voltage being the same, higher wattage means more current. (in amperes)

The "W" after number (as in 100W) stands for Watt. And Watt is a measure of power : Watt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

How come then 100W is same as 130W? It is like saying 100 Kg same as 130 Kg :uncontrol.

If it was same power why ask for heavy duty wire? Don't contradict yourself.

You need heavy wire because 130W bulb will flow 30% more current than a 100W bulb, and 115% more current than a 60W bulb. hence, if 60W needed 5 amp to glow, it will need about 11 amp for 130W.

Hey hey! I put it wrong there. My error. What I meant is that no matter what the power of the bulb, a 12 Volt relay can effectively control the electricity from the battery. I am aware that 130W needs more power, coz I am using it. That is why I insisted on heavy duty wires. Sorry for putting it wrong.
