Hi,

Just bought a pair of Philips X-Treme Power bulbs for may Alto.

Can't say that the brightness is so much more than the original

Halonix ones. I would say about 15% . But the beam can reach

longer.

I got them for Rs.700, which I note from this forum, is a bit on

the cheaper side.

By the way, the spare bulbs provided by Maruti were 'Jagan'.

Have't heard of it before and they are not as good as Halonix, the

originals. Why is Maruti doing this . Or did the dealer do the

switching?

@pr_ans : I have been using Philips rally 90/100 on My Ford Ikon.
I know 90/100 is not street legal, but the light colour is yellow and not attention catching at all.
The gains are noticeable, especially on night highway drives.
Although it is usually recommended to go for relay for the 90/100 setup, i had been suggested that its not required for Ikon.
So, i am running it without relay for last one and a half year and havent faced any issue till now. I have used it even on night drives for continously 9 hours or so.
There has been absolutely no "smoking" effect till now on the the headlight lens.
Cost me 300/- for a pair if i remember right.

9216,
Even I got the world-famous "Jagan" brand H4 bulbs as spare.

I got myself the Roots harness/relay kit along with Philips Rally 100/90 bulbs. Cost me a total of 750 bucks from GP Road Chennai. MASS refused to install the same. So planning to take it to Electra for the installation.

Guys,

I have a question, I had 3 HID kits and believe me not very useful on a single highway as the yellow light just cuts better and with the HID kit you cannot see anything when the opposite cars are coming with high beam of 100++ watts.

I have put the yellow bulbs in low beam and kept the high beam HID to get a easy pass on the Highway, I need to know how can I put a powerful halogen yellow bulb in the low beam, as the company gives 50 or 55 watts which is not sufficient on single road highways, I need to increase the power to 100++ watts.

Can anyone please help as i planning to drive down to Delhi again.

I need it for Honda Civic.

Cheers

skoda laura facelift 2009 headlights?

Hi guys,
I bought the new skoda laura elegance facelift! Anyone know what type of bulb holder (H3, H7, etc) is used for the projector low beam and the fog lights?

Mod's Note: Please carry out a search to find a relevant thread to post, rather than opening a new thread everytime.

Thread migrated and merged here for this once.

I've decided to buy Osram Night breakers for my U-VA.

Is this the right bulb - H4?
Osram Night Breaker H4 from Power Bulbs | Free Worldwide Delivery

The dealer said when i first enquired that it was H7 that is needed - is he wrong? (He wasn't very familiar with the product)
Just to confirm - I will need one pair only right? is there separate bulbs for high and low beam?
I know these are extremely basic questions, but I'm a non-tech guy and don't understand whats inside the headlamps of my U-VA!!

Rally 100/90 should cost you 125-130/bulb.

Best way to figure out.... Just look at the spare bulb provided in the box. If you have 2, you have separate for Hi and Lo. If you have two of same type, then you have single bulb (ideally H4)

Also look at the last few pages of the Manual for the Spec sheet where they list the bulbs used in the car.

Which HID kits are these? If not the other details please post at least the K temperature of the light (as in 3400K, 4200K, 6000K, 10000K etc.).

Cheers,

Thanks Fountainheader! My info told me it would cost me 500 per piece. I have tried searching but haven't got the ones I want. All available are in white light. I want yellow ones.

Ravindra- Bosch 6000k, I know bosch does not make HID kits but I bought this long time back, I am planning to put 4300k P4 for low beam and 6k for the fog lights only, what do you suggest, will 4300k low beam will be better as it is more yellowish than the other k's which are white and nothing.

I want to ensure that I am good on highway while all the high beam are on my face.

Thanks mate
