Can someone advice me on upgrading Civic lights to HID. The low beam is HB4 9006 and high is HB4 9005. Comments from people who have done this would be welcome. I am at Bangalore, so details of anyone who does this professionally would be welcome.

i suggest you get the projector lights first otherwise the HIDs wont be as effective. i think blueraven can get the projectors? pm him

I'm looking at changing the Lancer's headlight bulbs as I will be doing a long highway journey soon. I have the OE 55/60's. Any ideas which is the best 55/60 available in India. Don't have time to change to 100/90 setup as I won't have time to try it out and see how reliable it will be. The electricals are 8yrs old so don't want to take risk for highway if something shorts.

had a talk with my hyundai dealer.they got in touch with philips and they have offered to show me the diff available hid beams first then i can choose.they have diamond vision crystal vision n some other.which to choose?does anybody have some info about this things.price quoted 20000 rs.

Get Phillips Vision plus, un-doubtfully the best light throw and spread in 55/60 category. However, if you couldn't catch hold of Philips try to get Osram Silverstar +50%.

Best of Luck !!

Doc., you are comparing HID with Crystal vision which is totally different league.

Phillips HID is something which will cost you >17K here in Delhi, and Philips DV/CV is something which cost around 1K.

Any idea about the cost of the philips and the Osram's.

Also, anybody have any idea about the fog lamps on the lancer SFXi. They are projector type halogen foglamps which cost a bomb but are not very effective. Seeing if I can put them to good use.

Vision PLus has been stopped. CLosest best is Osram Silverstar/ Nightbreaker. THey cost close to 1.2-1.6k.
If you can wait more, Philips is launching the Extreme POwer 80+. This should be a good buy.

get any 100/90w bulbs and they will be a lot better than your stock 55/60w setup.

I just bought Philips 100/90w bulbs for my innova.

Can I replace the ones just as it is? :
  1. without worrying about holder melting
  2. without worring abt relay etc?

will inquire about that. also wanted to inquire about fogs from people who have put hids in there main lamps. what to do with them -another hid kit or just change them to white bulb variety? thanks

Took out the fog light cluster from my car and removed the bulb. It looks like an H3 bulb. It's 55W in a projector setup. Looking out for good upgrade options for these as well. I'm only getting the normal H3's from philips for Rs.100 ea.

For the main headlight need to see where in Bangalore I can get the OSRAM silverstar.

Oh forget the Osram's and get a 90/100 upgrades. you have enough time to test the upgrade.

also being offered bosch hid kit @ 16000.pkilips is at 20000.which to choose??

I would say Philips anyday! Bosch does not make aftermarket HID conversion kits. What is available in the market as Bosch is chinese fake made by a company in china registered as BOSCH and it has nothing to do with the renowned "BOSCH-MADE IN GERMANY" that we all respect!

There are other brands like P4, AUtoguage etc which are available for around 13k and it comes with a genuine B & W. But please as far as possible avoid the chinese kits being sold by the name of "BOSCH"

Cheers
