re: Vicky.in's online automotive store. EDIT : Poor reviews & customer service on Pg.3

Not sure if this is the right thread to post this. However, here it goes.

I went to bajajauto.com and saw an ad for the miniature Pulsar 220. On clicking i was redirected to vicky.in Thought of giving it a shot and bought the scale model at Rs 535 + 150 Rs for shipping. This was on the 8th or 9th of june. Finally on 14th June the parcel was delivered to the gatekeeper in my apartment complex (you know how it is with DINKS)
Was terribly excited when i came home and started opening the packaging. Got a shock when i saw that the bike was broken in half with numerous plastic bits lying here and there. Immediately took some photographs without opening the package and mailed the same to their customer support. I asked for a full refund or a replacement.
A day later, they replied that i needed to courier the package in original condition (Thus spending some Rs 200 bucks to parcel it to chennai) and then they will give me a refund of just the cost of the miniature. The both sides courier will be my loss. Hence to get a refund of Rs 535 i was supposed to lose Rs 350.
I told them that its unacceptable since it was their criminal negligience that such a piece(believe me it was broken in atleast ten places -- not possible just in courier handling) was given to the customer and now he will have to suffer a loss just to get the refund. They simply told me to read the T and C which are ofcourse always loaded in their favour.
I have had prior experiences in many online websites but have never faced such a pathetic situation. Whenever i was delivered some poor quality goods, i was duly compensated and the guys have been apologetic.
Eventually, decided to fix up the miniature myself and used up two tubes of feviqwik to do the same.

I know that according to their TnC they are within their rights to refuse me a full refund. However, i am also within my rights to warn anyone else who wants to shop from this very unprofessional site.

Attached is a pic. Note that the rear of the bike was completely broken. A few plastic bits are strewn here and there. The fairing+tank attachment was broken underneath from the chassis.

Thanks for bringing this up.

Yes you should have ideally got a replacement.

I had the same issue with a seller on ebay. And believe me he shipped a new piece (not a scale model) and didn't even ask the old one to be send back.

Since then I must have given him an additional business of at least 20-30K.

Hope the folks at vicky.in read this and come up with a better solution to this. Maybe talk hard to their courier company if required.

If they are shipping a faulty product itself then surely this is penny wise pound foolish situation and they will close shop soon.

Time to tell folks around to be wary of their Terms and Conditions. As they don't seem to be customer friendly.

Do you mind if I paste this link on other forums?

If they do make up for this, the goodwill should spread through the same medium.

Exactly! I have purchased from many indian websites with eyes closed and never faced this kind of an issue. A special note for inkfruit. Once they sent me the wrong T-shirt. I mailed them and to make up for the whole thing, they sent another tshirt free. Just awesome.
My last mail has gone unreplied by the vicky guys. I had specifically mentioned that if they didn't feel that i deserved a complete refund then i was within my right to warn others. Hence i have no issues if you post this link in other forums(i have posted the same thing on xbhp also) Will definitely help some other customers.
I am not bitter. My feviqwik paste job has been a success and the bike has a proud place in my little collection. Though some plastic bits are still lying around which i couldnt figure out!

What are you looking for?

This is OT for this thread. Look for the online purchase thread elsewhere. You will get lot of recommendations on there.

I had ordered a car shampoo & engine degreaser from them. Although the courier did take some time to deliver the package, the packing & the products were satisfactory.

Thats bad. I thought I was badly affected by the Vicky.in guys for the same Pulsar model. I had also ordered the same on 8th or 9th of June but there were no signs of delivery even after a month. After repeated calls and follow-up mails, I finally got a reply a week back stating that they don't have a red Pulsar in stock. But, if I was ready, they had a blue Pulsar in stock. So, I accepted and got a blue Pulsar delivered in a good condition. One half of the Bajaj logo in the left side of the fueltank has peeled off. Rest all are fine.

I guess i saved you a lot of frustration by ordering just a few hours earlier
My bike is Red in colour hence i was besotted with the red 220 scale model. Blue won't have cut it for me. Though its really poor service on their part.
Once i had ordered a helmet on a US site and it had gone out of stock. They mailed me within a few hours that it was out of stock and gave me the option of a complete refund or any other helmet in its place. Guess these guys have a lot to learn. Got info from another forum that these scale models are now available at probikings. I know where to go now.

re: Vicky.in's online automotive store. EDIT : Poor reviews & customer service on Pg.3

Call me vindictive if you will.
Here is another post which details this atrocious sites' callous attitude.

Helmets - Page 772 - xBhp.com : The Global Indian Biking Community

Copying what was written

"I would suggest you stay away from *********. I had a pretty bad experience shopping with them. They dont always ship what they advertise. I ordered a couple of scale model cars based on the description and picture that they had put up but they sent pieces from a totally different series instead. The helpline makes a mockery of the word helpline. Vicky picked up my call the first time and after I explained the situation he never picked up my calls again. Even though I later dropped repeated sms's he didnt reply or return my calls. Only their email 'support' responded, saying that they cant help. Ive posted the details on the FB page as well. Very dismal customer interaction with what was supposed to be a 'reputed' website. For 8k I dont know if you want to go through the same hassle as I did.

Oh no! I had ordered from these guys last week thinking that they were reputable, but have only now found this thread. I haven't heard anything from them except the automated email regarding my order. I ordered a couple of packs of Philips Bulbs from them - do I need to be concerned??

Good initiative from Vignesh & Karthick. great going guys. Went through the website. Its a good beginning but would surely appreciate if you can include searching products based on what car model I have. Specially useful when I am searching for Car Covers or bulbs or may be wipers.

I guess they used up a lot of money and idea on the website and failed to put the same in quality control.
They should know in online business only feedback will get them more customers.

+1 to the initiative.
+1 to the product list they stock
