Kitchen glass cleaners haven't helped, neither the car wash in the reservoir.
Infact I even scrubbed the windscreen using a sponge with just the concentrates.
Can you try the toothpaste on the windshield and see. We have a separate thread on this.

Interesting. I see d-limonene, a degreaser you normally don't get in India. Other surfactants and I think some alcohols. If I remember correctly, Cartalk once said that the only two possibilities were ammonia solution, failing which, the competition would use the other, acetone. Between them, one or the other would succeed in removing road grime, which is mostly tar or oil mixed with dirt.

Were you able to solve this problem?

I am using proklear WWC 5ml per litre of water. Driving in rains at night is a big pain now as there is a sort of haze on the windscreen. My car is a year old and wipers are doing their job perfectly from what I can tell.

The haze is not much but the problem is compounded with the lights of oncoming vehicles.

I sold that car. Later I used Sonax clear view and still have plenty left and it cleans really fine. The haze was due to the wax treatment which I used to do on the car and ended up wiping the same cloth on the glass. As of now using standard Maruti service centre provided cleaning agent and it is working fine. Make sure you separate cloth to clean glass and the body. The Sonax clear view is a very good product too.

Re: Best Windshield Washer Fluid?

On a side note, I recently discovered that the Renault Branded (Bluish) washer liquid that I have been buying from the ASC converted itself into a gel and clogged up the reservoir to an extent that the pump was not picking up any water. I used a bottle brush to agitate things inside the reservoir and found bluish gooey strands of the thing coming out. As soon as it settled, the pump clogged up again. Will have to agitate and overflow the tank to get everything out properly.

Possible causes:
- I might need to pre-mix it with water before adding it to the tank.
- The water might have dried up leading the soap to coagulate
- Its just a bad product.

Push a garden hose all the way into the tank and turn on the tap open fully. It will cause whatever is at the bottom of the tank to come up and out of the opening.

Re: Best Windshield Washer Fluid?

For me the best so far has been the waxpol blue bottle that cost some 50 odd rupees.A bottle lasts for two complete refills and i think its good enough.
Cleans like a charm and cost effective too. Another thing i frequently do is wax my front glass that too helps in keeping it streak free.

Thanks. This makes perfect sense. I recently started using the services of a new car cleaning guy and (unwillingly) moved to the single cloth cleaning process. The residual wax from the body is making its way to the screen.

Is there a huge difference between proklear and sonax? I have a year's stock of proklear left with me.

Also, is the one available at Shell bunks the same as that on amazon? (link)

I recently got one, quite accidentally actually since I was not expecting a Shell Windshield Washer. This is a small 100ml bottle. The lady at the counter could not explain the ratio required, so I presume it to be 1 capful in one liter. Used the same on my Kwid's (anyways car is not moving much these days, so it was like cleaning a cleaned surface )

Is the mixing ratio correct?
