The Valet parking guy at the 'O' hotel here in Pune dropped and damaged by Corolla (2005) key. Few days later the entire unit just broke apart and now I am using the second key which is without any remote buttons. Showroom guys quoted 10k! Anyone knows any reputed and reliable shop in PUNE that can help me get a duplicate with the remote function working? What happens to the immobilizer?

Looks great. Finally we have some one in Delhi for flip-keys. I got mine done from harison keys in 2011. Still going strong.

While going from Netaji Subhash Chandra Place towards Madhuban Chowk, take right from third traffic signal. As you take the turn, on your left, you will see IDBI bank. The shop on the corner of IDBI bank is the one you are looking for.

Immobilizer is controlled via a small ROM chip stuck using hot glue gun or encased in rubber/ rubberized plastic inside key fob. It can be extracted from your old key and transplanted to the new key. All you need to find is someone who does the job. You can check with local computerized key duplicator, he can guide you further on where to find such technician.

Get a new remote,that has buttons aligned vertically ,and then have it converted to flip key.

Hey guys!!

Did not want to open a new thread for this. I came across a very cool protective case for OEM flip key fobs for VW and Skoda cars. Was not sure how good the product would turn out to be but took the plunge anyway and I am impressed with the out come. Bought this product from Ebay for INR 1850. It is available in different other colours too. Here is the link for the same

The fit is exact and perfect and one has to just clip it over your OEM key. No modifications required.

Here are the pics of my key. It may be looking a bit dull here due to the mobile phone camera quality but it is actually bright red like the one shown in the Ebay link.

ashtorque, you can buy a flip key from dspstores dot com and have a duplicate key made from fazal's on MG road. Transfer the pcb and sensor from old remote to new flip key shell and you are done. Will be pretty cheap than getting a OEM remote.

Yes, there's ashar key hub in Dadar.
He can cut it for you, or for that matter make you a new flip key directly, you need not get one from ebay.
