The next best option is to get a tacho outside and fit it as a DIY project. Amit has posted a detailed way to get it fitted on the Alto in another thread and its fairly easy if you follow the wiring.

Am not sure if you will get a reliable brand in the ~Rs. 1,500 price bracket why not stretch your budget by another Rs. 1,000 and get a good tacho?

Perhaps we can work together to source out a good brand in Bangalore if you are keen.

By the way, don't you have a Zen?

Regards,
gpa

alto tacho

here is a tacho i have in my alto. cast me about 4000 with the shift light. although it does not require a shift light as the meter changes color and beeps at the shift point you set for it. try looking for something similar for your alto.

attaching a few pictures.i dont really like the huge rpm meters. i think they are too big for an alto. sorry about the image quality, phone camera.

Alrighty then, you can settle on a slightly lower one. I think the Autoguage ones come in at ~/<Rs. 2,000 and are fairly good!

The problem with cheaper ones is that they konk out fairly early and you have no choice but to replace them.

instead you can go for LED strips. Consume less current and long lasting.

Hello all, I am pretty new to cars, I have recently purchased a zen lx 2004 model. After driving around in bikes for the past 5 years got used to tachometers, hence, was looking for a cheaper solution for a add-on tacho.

How much will a ritz or a-star tacho cost? I am in bangalore, which place will be best to perform this mod. I was planning to place it just besides to the instrument console on the left side, i.e. between the ac vents and instrument console so that the viewable area is not hampered.

I need to install a tachometer in my Spark. Its a four cylinder engine, and I know for a fact that none of the variant in Spark comes with a the stock tacho.

Has anyone had any experience on installing an after-market RPM meter in Spark? How easy or difficult is it? I can source a tacho easily in Bangalore. I want to know how to install it in Spark.
