Please help me locate following accessories in New Delhi

I want to buy the following accessories
1. Tow cables - good enough for a 2.5 ton vehicle
The nylon type which are used for cranes should be good?
2. Jerry cans - 2X30 liters or better 2X40 liters.
The jerry cans should be air tight, i.e. I should be able to lay them on the side without danger of spil. I can look out for Army ones, but I am told they leak from the cap. So something with a seal will be good. Also they should be able to handle atmospheric pressure gradients if I forget to vent them.
3. Hydraulic jack - Good enough for the safari
4. Foot air pump - Preferably double barrel heavy duty type for SUV tires.
5. Good Took kit with Ring spanners for Lug nuts etc.,

I will add more to the list for my Leh trip, but meanwhile these are the must have items,
I have no idea where to go in Delhi for such stuff. I checked out Lajpat nagar for foot pump etc., but thats expensive, and quality is dubious.
So people who know the "old markets" of Delhi please help.

Dosen't looks multiple trips to me, you can park up at cp and start shopping from Kasmere gate and them move forward to chawari bazaar. Only thing you need to struggle is for Jerry Cans.

I think I can park at Red for take a rick, get the tow topes from chawri bazaar. Put them in the car, and then do the kashmere gate route.
Carrying jerry cans in MEtro is going to be tough, and security may not allow me in.
Moreover hows the quality. We have one green army one at home, and it leaks fumes, and if on its side leaks from cap.
In a car, we need air tight jerry can.

finding ISI stuff for pump and jack will be tough in Kashmiri Gate as well. Though tool kits are possible.

I have passed your list to dad, who is going to find out what can be procured

I am most certain about getting you the double barrel foot pump, tool kit and Hydraulic Jack (bottle right?)

You should search for the tow cable in Chawri Bazar or online (Ebay and Amazon have them for sale, not a bad option). Jerry Cans I have no clue about. Possibly Mayapuri is a good place to search. You can PM Harjeev since he knows Mayapuri fairly well now.

Will still let you know where all these things will be available, or can get them home or we can go to Kashmere Gate and pick them up!

Thanks a Ton Ankit.
About the bottle part I did not understand. I want the jack which is used by the tire shops and has a long handpump type handle.
If your dad can enquire about the approximate prices that will be great!

What is the maximum distance you are plannig to cover? Do you need Jerry Cans at all?

I covered Leh-Manali without even going into Reserve (i.e. warning light didn't come on, I had more than 10 litres left in the tank) - got 9.8 kmpl on that journey including ascent/descent of 4 passes etc etc.

Your 2.2 is supposedly way more fuel efficient. So why on earth would you require Jerry Cans?

I need to have total of 128 liters of fuel for one of my travel legs (8kmpl) . 65L in fuel tank + Jerry can(60 L) - This is not for Manali Leh journey, but for the other circus I plan to do there
As a buffer I will carry 20L bisleri can also of fuel.
A good common friend of ours on a bike had to return midway due to fuel constraints! He owns a safari, but prefers to do leh on bike!
Since we are 4 people and luggage won't be much, so we carry fuel.

No worries! I will let you know the prices/specs as soon as I'm aware. What's the travelling date?

Are you absolutely sure that there are no pumps anywhere on your circus route? Carrying 65 litres of fuel is also a hazard in an enclosed space & given the kind of rough surfaces that you'll be traversing.

I checked and double checked, there is absolutely no fuel en route
For example Kargil-Padum-Kargil is 550kms. With additional sight seeing you can easily do 700kms. Even with 9kmpl you fall short, and that route is so bad that often 8kmpl is a blessing since the riverbed is the road.
Ditto for Changthang Plateau.
Absolutely no fuel anywhere. So Karu is the last place you get fuel.
So 60 liters extra is a must.
Thats why I wanted air tight extra durable jerry cans. We will fill them up just before our changthang leg, otherwise they will be empty.

And yes I was thinking of buying fire extinguisher from Hometown or something.

As for hydraulic hack, I think the floor type should be best since it would come under the passenger seat?
For tool kit Kashmere gate looks much more attractive as compared to ebay. For tow rope also I would like to see the rope before buying so chawri bazaar is better.
Since diesel self ignition temperature is 210 degrees, if I keep venting it should be okay,.
More than diesel I am worried about the portable LPG cylinder. I know adc carried one, but that is one item about which I am really worried about carrying in car.
