Innova 7/8 Seater SWAP| Are Seat Mounting bolts Layout common (for Middle Row only)?

I am looking forward to SWAP seats of my Innova 8 Seater with a 7 Seater. Team-BHP Classifieds - Innova 8 Seater to 7 Seater Conversion SWAP - Powered by PhotoPost Classifieds

All the three rows seats need to be SWAPPED to maintain uniformity (fabric and wear & Tear)

Will I will be able to dismantle the seats myself (esp. middle row) and re-fit in both vehicles. in 3-4 Hours?

I have the proper tools for the bolts.

Is'nt the Seat Mounting bolts Layout common for same for both vehicles for the (middle row only)?

The 8 seater middle row also has 4 bolts for each section, with both sections spaced symmetrically.
(see earlier pic taken from my car)

Waiting to hear from you.

oh no!
The 8 seater middle row has 2 bolts and 2 pegs for each section, with both sections spaced symmetrically.

I wonder whether the captain seats have 2 pegs + 2 bolt layout.
If not whether the pegs are removable brackets (accessible after lifting the carpet)

(see earlier pic taken from my car)

I had asked this to Toyota earlier. My uncle wanted the G variant in 7 seater config which was not available at the time. They clearly said it cannot be done by the dealer.

A few months later G was launched in 7 seater config.

Toyota generally maintain that attitude. Strictly no MODS allowed.

They put adverse comments on my Service TQM Report on my vehicle aftermarket alloys and Audio Amplifier Tap-off. saying its un-recommended.

They also warned me that I should not fit 90/100 bulbs and Bull Bars. For Bull Bars, they said that on impact, the shockwaves get transmitted to chassis directly (instead of crumple zones) and distort things to cause greater damage. So lack of impact absorption causes more damage.

Coming to the Seats Swap, I still gotta try and If I am successful, I will post pictures here for everyones benefit.

What is the use of converting the eight seater to a seven seater, comfort for middle passengers?

They have a very valid point with the above.

  • Eight Seaters are most comfortable actually for middle passengers as they are wider, longer and got better lumbar support. Infact a 5 footer can sleep on it properly.
  • Seven Seater Middle captain seats are actually more uncomfortable during long rides as a result.
BUT I am looking for/always wanted a 7 seater because,
  • I drive with fewer passengers(Max 3)
  • I keep a lot of stuff and have to access them by opening rear hatch.
  • My Fellow Rear Passengers are allowed to sit legs stretched and laid on the front 180 degree backrest.
  • My Fellow Rear Passengers are also preferred to be sitting in the last row (if they are feeling too cold from the AC)

thats what i was saying. captain seats have 4 bolts. the mumbai toyota dealer had told us when we were inquiring that it could be done for 30k and they would have to change part of the floor or something.

Hi Guys,

i know its a slightly old thread, but was wondering how difficult would it be to replace 2 captain seats with bench seats. I want to convert 7 seater to 8 seater. Obvious reasons being corporate lease does not allow me to get 8 seater in the first place.

thanks
