Collinite is a simple pure Carnauba wax possibly with some synthetic waxes in unknown proportions. The exact formulation is obviously a secret.

For anybody who wants the details of this superb wax and how to use it here is a thread on Autogeeks - Collinite 845

Apply a sealant like Megs NXT or Ultimate synthetic wax (these are sealants but marketed as waxes) and then layer a coat of Collinite 845. Assuming your car's paint is in good to very good condition trust me it makes your car look beautiful

Re: Most durable wax I have encountered - Collinite 845

Dear detailing enthusiasts,

5 years back when I had acquired a candy white Rapid, the car detailing bug bit me and I had gathered a novice detailing kit (Formula 1 shampoo, carnuaba wax, sonax polish and Megs quick detailer).

Now that I've recently got my hands on a black Punto, I'm planning to upgrade my kit. The following products are on the list currently:

1. Sonax shampoo
2. Meguiars clay bar
3. Meguiars NXT 2.0
4. Collinite 845
5. A good quality quick wax spray.
6. Applicator pads, microfiber towels.

Please add/change the products as you like to suggest.

I have used the products on your list. Of special mention is Meg's clay bar, its really good, but pricey at AED 50 in Dubai (Rs. 1000). How much did you pay? BTW, you got both Collinite and NXT? I love NXT, but Collinite is something of a speciality I hear. Meg's quick wax spray is just Rs 500 at 3M, but wasn't that great. I know of no other substitute, having tried most of them. So you're good to go

After taking multiple quotes from ceramic coaters/detailers, both branded and unbranded, I too have kind of decided to stick with the DIY polish route and some PPF on the bumpers, door edges and handle indents.

I fail to see the point in paying 40-80k INR for what is ultimately a polish, be it ceramic or any other fancy name.

From where do you intend to order these products? I will most likely follow the same route.

4. Collinite 845 - Since you're experienced by now, you might wanna try the Collinite 476. You can get it applied after a professional wash. Insane water beading properties.
5. A good quality quick wax spray. - Proklear RAW Xtreme CX Carnauba Wax Rinseless/Waterless Auto Wash Concentrate. I was inspired by BHPian Nikhilb2008.
6. Applicator pads, microfiber towels. - For towels, I recommend Amazon Basics + 3M + Towels that came free with the ProKlear. I've ordered pads from AliExpress. Have to check them out.

Please add/change the products as you like to suggest.

On point number 5. The quick-wax I'm using gives a 'quick' detailed look, (on the hurry). Whereas you're suggesting a water-less cleaner. Are these two the same please? I haven't used the Proklear.

Hey Sebring, in this particular case, the Waterless Wash concentrate doubles up as a Quick Detailer because it contains Carnauba Wax. I use it regularly to achieve that instant shine on my Golden Brown Metallic Honda City, which btw, is the toughest shade to maintain.
Search for the exact same name - "Proklear RAW Xtreme CX"

The NXT 2.0 and collinite 845 are both waxes so no need of both. You can get a Meguiars Ultimate polish instead of one of these. Go for Collinite only if you are experienced enough and can handle the manual labor that hard waxes bring with them. The Meguiars NXT 2.0 is very easy to use and buff and i use the same as well.

I just ordered the Collinite from Mohsin at Ultimate Detailerz over his website of the same name.

1. 3M shampoo is better than Sonax have personal experience of both.(easily available offline)
2. Go for Bilt Hamber clay bar retails at around 1600 and weighs 200 grams(detailed clean india)
3. I think you're referring to NXT 2.0 wax which is quite good but Collinite is just better(bringingbest, ultimate detailerz)
4. Collinite 845 is probably one of the finest waxes you can lay your hands on
5. As others have said megs quick detailer or even Proklear Rinsless wash with Carnauba wax but if you can get a proper spray wax like optimum that would be better IMO
6. Check amazon basics towels which are ok quality but dirt cheap and detailed clean india for applicator pads

P.S I have no ties/links with any website or company mentioned above

Re: Most durable wax I have encountered - Collinite 845

I have done paint correction on my Punto this sunday and applied 2 coats of Meguiars NXT 2.0 sealant with 24 hours curing time in between the coats.

I would like to add a layer of Collinite 845 over this. Is it a wise move? Some say the solvents in 845 can strip off the underlying wax/sealant but most pros on Autogeek say otherwise.

Please pour in your valuable opinions!

Ideally caranuba wax should be topped with a sealant and not the other way round. Since NXT 2.0 is a sealant and not a pure wax, the results may not be that great since there can be issues with the wax bonding on top of sealant.

I would suggest you wait for a month. The NXT would have lost much of its efficacy by then. You can then apply a couple of coats of 845.

Re: Most durable wax I have encountered - Collinite 845

I park my car under a tree and the car is greeted by ~10 bird blessings every morning. I cannot use a car cover as the aggressive street dogs have ripped it apart. My best bet is to coat at least the roof and bonnet with a good wax/sealant and remove droppings as often as possible.

So, how does Collinite 845 fare against bird bombings?

Either way, I have wanted to try this product out for a couple of years now. My order is on its way with a MF towel and foam applicator pad from GreenZ Car Care.

You can try turtlewax ceramic spray sealent as well. You wont need to use collinite and its way easier to apply. If required can top off with collinite 845. Have been using it for a month now and it makes car very easy to clean.
